Unfortunately I live in a state that doesn't allow private entity liquor sales. There's only one liquor retailer controlled by the government. Costco can only sell wine and beer here. I've visited the ones with liquor stores. I miss them!
Small local stores. Today i stopped at my favorite produce store, an Asian market with lots of fresh produce and meat, the local seafood market and then the bakery. Took me a bit longer but mainly the drive and transfer in and out of 3 stores. But the shopping time is shorter, the people neighbors.
You really need to shop with a friend! I would buy more items there, but there are only two of us. I know, that’s part of their deal, buy in bulk. The quality is usually very high.
Find a grocery buddy. There are others out there in your neighborhood in the same boat. Or in some cases just donate or give away the excess I pay less for Costco sizes in a lot of cases.
Check my profile....I don't want the algorithm to think it's spam... there is an app that shows every major company in America and their political contributions.... if their values don't align with them BOYCOTT.... send an email as well telling why they give deserve your money.
When you get used to buy in quantity, you can store it or give it away like I do. I like the quality. They have superior quality merchandise at great prices. I love Costco.
So true! However, I don't have good willpower and I will end up eating double the amount of candy or cookies I buy. My kids are all out of the house now. I'll still shop there but I'll gain weight... Lol
Having eliminated Amazon, Whole Foods, etc for dropping their DEI initiatives, well Target announced today that they too have dropped their DEI initiative. So we’re all shopping at Costco.
Those tortilla encrusted tilapia filets are amazeballs. …Kirkland’s Irish Whiskey, too. Stir fry kits are bombaf… ok so we are pondering how to only shop at Costco, too lmao
Oh, don't buy those. Treat yourself to some of the Aussie version. Twizzlers have no taste, kinda like eating soft red plastic. The Aussie stuff has REAL FLAVOUR!
I love these so much!! I was on a hunt for red vines and a never found them. Twizzlers are no substitute. Then I was at a friend’s house one day and she had these! So much yum!
They have the best paper towels, tp, and parmesan cheese is cheap. And I can get pants that fit.
All that and support diversity and inclusion too.
What else could one want? lol.
🤣 shop at Costco, run out of places to store the excess. Buy garage storage units to extend the places to keep items from Costco. Fill that up and buy a storage shed from Costco…
I think Taco was simply making a comment on Costco product sizing. I for one don't need 300 Twizzlers but of course Costco has that size and probably for very cheap. Don't ask me about my Costco fishie cracker "problem"...
Costco shopping works - there’s only two of us; we don’t get mass quantities of everything. They have quality stuff. Eggs, gas, Greek yogurt, fish, chicken, and veggies. Some OTC meds. Best way to purchase mattresses of anywhere.
It's really disgusting to see a company like Target cave in to the convict, all to save their bottom line. If a company can't stand behind their policies, then they shouldn't have those policies to begin with. Shame on them.
Costco needs to up its game, as their selection of (for example feminine hygiene) products is limited. People bailing on all the companies with shiny new "facism forward" marketing plans need somewhere to go for their brands and preferences.Big opportunity for Costco and Aldi, if they can be nimble.
^ Also, they need to retain products more. I get they're wholesale, but so many times I fall in love with a product, and I go to get more, and they never get it back in. My favorite cleaner just came back after a year.
I haven't seen any comments about Costco's frozen food section. They carry some decent stuff. Most of it comes in a bag so you can use only the number of potions you need and pop the rest back into the freezer.
If on one side of my house at a Sam’s Club, and the other side of my house, I had a BJ’s. And there was a Costco about 50 miles away. And I needed to shop the next day. I would make sure I fueled up my car that night.
Someone just brought a good point did I know for sure if BJ’s had also done the same thing as target had done. And the truth was while I always fact check everything I do I didn’t for that. So I just did BJ’s donates about three to one Republican to Democrat so screw them
I've got two BJs and a Costco near me. Even though I'm single with no kids, I live at Costco for my staples...TP, paper towels, eggs, fish, fresh veggies that I blanch then freeze.
Baby steps. Cancelled Prime yesterday. Looking for alternatives for my few subscriptions of needed specialized pet food. Then account canceled completely. Feeling free
You go into a Costco the employees are engaged. Go into a Target the employees are just doing time. It makes no sense for Target to take the knee. Rarely shopped there anyway.
Not at my store, same with chocolate covered raisins.
Can only find online and have to pay shipping.
But can find a lot of Korean skincare with no shipping fee.
It's important to research companies more deeply as the info provided by the Goods Unite Us app does not show the proportion of its workers that vote R vs D. It only shows the proportion of money donated, so one or just a few relatively large contributions could easily disrupt the proportion,
especially when contribution is low (which is the case for WinCo). The app shows that Amazon donates more to Democrats, but we know about how Amazon treats its workers and who it is owned by. How much workers are paid, their working conditions, and who owns the business should be considered.
You make some good points. My first assumption (as I’ve said on other similar threads) is that being employee owned was a huge green flag. That’s why the score on this app was so alarming to me.
Being employee owned in (R) or (D) districts would reflect their demographics. But even in a hard (R) area, the responsibility for customer delight is on each employee - they are not working for some rich executives somewhere.
My apologies, I wasn’t attempting to respond to your comment. I don’t know anything about Winco. I was trying to respond to the comment regarding Costco being a republican leaning donor
I’ve been able to get over 90% of what my husband and I need there. And it’s always the cheapest option. I use my freezer a lot. And, for me, it counts as shopping local.
My mom bought my family a bag of straws at Costco when my daughter was maybe 3 years old (because my daughter loved straws). Mom passed away a few months later, but we didn’t use the last straw until my girl turned 15. 💙💙💙
Awww I love this. My fiancé loved stocking up at Costco (in hindsight he may have lowkey been a doomsday prepper…). He passed away and it was three years later that I used the last roll of paper towels that we bought together 😅🥰
Need to start a local Costco community where larger packs are purchased, broken apart, and sold singly AT COST - no profit. Neighbors app might be a good place for that.
I eat Keto and got my groceries there this week for $70ish. I get a pack of avocados and the turkey dip for my lunch every day, protein drinks, veggies and protein. Very affordable, and the produce is tippy-top!
All the more Twizzlers to share! (I buy a dozen Costco croissants for $5.99 and leave them at a local nursing home for the staff. They go like hotcakes.)
Comments
At least it sells port.
Not sure about the hard stuff.

Maybe if you lurk out by the back loading dock.
I've heard tell.
There's going to be alot more cooking I'm going to have to do.
Only #Redvines
OG Twizzlers, to be clear, not pull and peel, which has more liquid in it.
But, yes, hooray for Costco!!
I'm single/live alone ...
But I love Twizzlers!
All that and support diversity and inclusion too.
What else could one want? lol.
Identify the enemy.
End the oligarchy.
Well-done!
I can make it work!!!
I invested in a food saver too!!
Can only find online and have to pay shipping.
But can find a lot of Korean skincare with no shipping fee.
All the employees I talk to seem very (D) .. but I'd expect stores in East WA to be manned by more (R) folk.
Until 6 months ago, the only craft/hobby store we had was Hobby Lobby. 🤮
