Ea-nāṣir is the recipient of the world’s oldest complaint letter. He’s reportedly the worst businessman of the 18th century, a mediocre conman whose actions should have him put out of business. Is this fair?

(yet I can’t quite stop wondering if the Ea-nāsir Family Trust was presciently created to fund exculpatory research….

His career may have been tumultuous, but his archives are a treasure. He kept them, even through diminishing circumstances! He held onto them, so we can read his terrible yelp reviews even now. It's so human.
Nāṣir has the same short a sound (nah), followed by a "ts" sound (like at the end of the word 'cats'). The i is not pronounced, we call that a schwa.
Quick question: in "Ea is the guardian", what was Ea? Was that just his name? Or was Ea something else?
Also, please either include alt text in the future, or a link to where the text may be found, for members who rely on readers. There's an option in your account settings to have the service remind you to do so; it's very useful.

There's a lot of them - Babylon, Larsa (down at the bottom of the image), Isin, Uruk, Malgium, Assur, Qabra, Mari, Der, & smack in the middle, the giant Eshnunna.

How much of your study relies on archeology?
For example, the Dilmun sea trade was based on monsoon winds. Interesting and marries text and archaeology, but moot.
