Change the song. Then you'll have a different song stuck in your head.
Or look up something that interests you and think about that for a while.
We do have power over our brains.
I don’t always have a song stuck in my head. I’m usually just talking to myself, but when there is a song, it’s usually just one line of it that keeps repeating. More annoying than an actual song.
Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food."

it’s called Xanax. I prefer the music over not being aware, I tried it and hated it. Music sooth’s the soul. There’s alway’s that sub-liminal music that supposed to help you sleep ? Just F.Y.I.
Imagine replacing that song, with a voice in your head telling a story, so every minute, you get to solve just one problem. And then another and another etc. It’s like that. 😶🌫️
I saw a skeet about 20 minutes ago with a video of "O Canada" being played outside the White House and now my brain is going "my home and native land" on repeat
when beethoven lost his hearing he attached a metal rod to his piano and bit down using bone conduction to feel the vibrations of his music so basically even deaf people can have songs in their heads
Yes, so basically the songs pause and then that’s when the incessant repeating of one liners or bits of phrases start up and those are actually a little louder and more persistent, and then they quiet down from time to time so the songs can come back. 😵💫🫠🙃

When I worked at Walmart, a coworker commented that she had just got rid of a song that was stuck in her head. I asked what it was. The theme from Bonanza. I said “ How does it go?” She started to hum it for me, stopped, swore at me and didn’t speak to me for the rest of the day.
THANK YOU. I know that people's brains vary and how much they imagine music but it seriously tortures me sometimes. Like, between Halloween and approximately March when Christmas carols are stuck in there
Try sleeping when you can hear every drip of a plumbing fixture in a nearby bathroom that you know will need to be ripped out of the wall and replaced by you. (That was a year ago, it's done now.)
it happens so frequently that i’m almost always listening to music so that i can control what’s playing instead of letting my subconscious drive the stereo
Doing Heardle with my wife in the morning. She starts singing a song she thinks might be the answer. Not this time, but no matter. I have Fleetwood Mac's Say You Love Me in my head for the rest of the day. This is my life. Understand that I am not complaining. It just is what it is
I'll never regret the day I installed a TV soundbar surround system and got a youtube premium account to avoid commercials! Song-in-head instant gratification!
ITS LIKE RAAAYEEAAAAAIN ON YA WEDDINGUHDAYEE ITS A FREEEEEEE RIIIIIIIDE WHEN YOUR ALREADY LATE
ITS THE GOOD ADVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE THATCHA JUST DIDUN TAKE
N WHO WOULD'VE THOT, YET FIGUREEEEEEES
When I get some gawd awful song stuck in my head the only thing that cures it is another gawd awful song. The cure is to hum "It's a small world after all". Guaranteed to kill all your brain cells and reduce you to a drooling, songless heap of jello.

Fly, right up to the sky but I can't.
Music takes the edge off.
All the other things that are stuck in my head
It’s a relief.
I have music in my head a lot.
Do you play an instrument?
I’ve found it’ll ease off once I figure out how to play it.

it starts from the moment i wake up

I'm kind of upset I don't have synesthesia
Silence.
No wind in the trees, Silence.
It makes your mind come alive.
(Ok that's a 70 year old Lonnie Donegan music reference)
I wanna know
What you're thinking
There are some things you can't hide
I wanna know
What you're feeling
Tell me what's on your mind

Suddenly that earworm would be a nice substitute.
seconds later some random oldie i may not have even heard recently pops into my head
and i nap/sleep until 8 but each time i half wake up
that song is still going in my head
have to force new song onto playlist
that i wake up to again in about 20 mins
I must have done something very, very bad in a prior life.
