Not my real name, just the most ludicrous pronunciation I’ve heard to date. Powerlifting and Socialism, the twin passions of Alejandro Alzumondo. And video games. And movies. Power System Engineer. I keep the lights on. he/him

Didn’t realize the word censorship had so many letters.

If it was done in defiance of a judges order the technical term for that is "illegal" which means it's not an arrest and deportation - which require those conducting it to at least presume they are acting within the law - but a kidnapping and human trafficking

if turning fash because you were annoyed by leftists on the internet was really a thing this site would be Stormfront

I dunno man, if the WH can point to people from Latin America and say "gang member," and point to people from the Arab world and say "terrorist" or "antisemite," and those designations lead directly to detention or worse, I think we have to acknowledge we're in a pretty bad place.

mrs. gennaro I am sorry to have to tell you this but your husband was killed in a work accident. they made dinosaurs real for fun and he got eaten by one while sitting on the toilet. he wasn’t using it he died abandoning children

It only makes sense to me if you assume that the same donors run both parties, and they want republicans to be in charge and democrats to be ineffective. Then it makes perfect sense.

isn't it deeply fucked up that the people *not convicted of or even charged with any crime* are sent to a forced labor prison to be kept there... possibly indefinitely? with no rights, no means to appeal, no anything

the most charitable I can be about this is that the people who say this shit have no earthly idea which ideas we like

Really interesting article, this part stuck out particularly well to me:

Tesla vs. other partially automated driving systems that use lidar. youtu.be/IQJL3htsDyQ by Mark Rober

Seems like has been very little coverage of protests happening in the U.S.--not necessarily an intentional media blackout (although possibly), but the result of a longstanding stance in legacy media that protests aren't worth covering, activists aren't credible sources (but somehow CEOs are), etc.

Silicon Valley is coming for faculty governance. The vultures are circling the corpse of the neoliberal American university. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

Nothing about American life will ever convince me that those who accumulate great wealth are worthy of respect. The admirable billionaire is a malignant fairy tale.

imo this should be enough to get him removed from his post due to clearly being mentally unfit to hold office

Big thanks to all the law enforcement officers helping swell the ranks at #TeslaTakedown protests around the country. Without your valued presence, the alliance between state and corporate power that has always defined fascism wouldn't be so obvious in all the media coverage!

Every time I wrote about my home state, readers would just be like "F-- Texas, throw the state away", not realizing that what I was trying to do was show them what was going to happen nationwide. That money is king, that people, yes, are cowards, and that "rules" are made to suit the powerful.

the senators recoil in horror as a wounded Caesar rises from the floor and a second health bar appears on the screen

People who I trust as real NOs: - Warren, Sanders - Ossoff (voted no as a front liner up in 26) - Warnock (called for new leadership) - Kim and Gallego (said they were nos on both CR and cloture) Everyone else I suspect, but Booker and Hickenlooper played coy for way too long and are up in 26.

the arch antisemite slated for deportation loves to go to shabbat dinner with his jewish friends

I'm rewatching The Wire. A character in the episode I'm watching says, "A lie ain't a side of the story. It's just a lie." For some reason, that speaks to me these days (as do a million other lines from the show.)

fuck off! get absolutely fucked!

when you say “duhh ai writing is good actually” you’re the yellow guy. this is u

This is correct. The Bush administration tortured prisoners and weaponized the DOJ to institutionalize it as policy, and the only prosecutions were of foot soldiers who did short time and got parole. The US is a country that believes in torture of prisoners and detainees. That is what the US is.

Literally zero of these calls are death threats, Thom Tillis is a whiny crying pissbaby who wouldn't hack it for 30 seconds as a marginalized person on the internet

- Alien vs Bloodborne - I worked extremely hard on this. Please take a look.

You know what to do with this info

Thanks for the shout out, Annalee! Another book I recommend for this moment is LET THIS RADICALIZE YOU by the great @mskellymhayes.bsky.social and @prisonculture.bsky.social www.haymarketbooks.org/books/1922-l...

You beat fascism by making common cause with everyone who is not a fascist and not a collaborator, but that second part is critical. It’s a non-ideological coalition in which we don’t have to agree about anything except the need to fight.

The Dickin Medal is the highest award that can be issued to animals in British military service. Bearing the words "We Also Serve" it has been awarded 75 times since its creation in 1943. Only one cat has ever received the award. This is the story of Able Seacat Simon, of HMS Amethyst. 🧵 1/25

I really enjoy frog wrestling. Don't even try to tell me it's fake.

Ile post the full page seen as you all dig the traditional work. When this book is filled, I'll do a full flick through vid.

i started editing my tender mechsploitation drama inspired by dolls, angels, Warhound, and hicuckomori from 17,000 words and somehow ended up with 20,000+ and someone getting their brains blown out with a lot of fucking in-between archiveofourown.org/works/56524519

abolish the Democratic party at this point tbh

I googled this to make a joke about how she should compare notes with this other person, and folks,

The word polycrisis really applies to Texas. Running out of water. Much of the water they have is polluted. Air is polluted. Efforts to hide the toxic water underground are resulting in toxic geysers and lakes. And also leading the world in methane emissions from oil and gas production.

Think about that 60-some-year-old South Korean senator who was literally climbing over walls to vote for impeachment as martial law was imposed in the country and then looking at…. Chuck Schumer.

This was somehow answered and never answered

Trying to record some beautiful stunning episodes and yet....

this is a good joke but this also speaks to a truth about 2025 America: the growing, horrible sense among many people that running scams is the only path to basic financial stability this is, of course, utter poison for human society
