Could this be round 2? If we start to hear more and more about the costs of Brexit from Labour sources, I would not be surprised at all if it turned out to be laying the groundwork for a big EU course change. Fingers crossed.

so hear me out: Labour ministers spent three months talking about how sure the economic circumstances were, which we now know was successfully laying the groundwork for the tax roses and borrowing in the budget. 1/2

So would you say that like Fallout all the games have a sort of survival sandbox feel to them? I get the impression that you're going for a fairly detailed simulationist vibe.

Sounds interesting. What would you say is the common thread that links these settings together, and what features does your system have to enable it? (I ask as someone who's working on a multi-setting game myself)

guy that had been posting for years on a forum I’m on started posting increasingly disjointed conspiracy stuff out of nowhere, and then dropped out of contact. A little later someone who knew him IRL shared that the guy had been diagnosed with brain cancer :(

Mac works for me because I'm bought into the ecosystem. I have an iphone, ipad, macbook and a mac mini hooked up to the TV. They all work almost seamlessly together and I can pick up on one device where I left off on another. But if that's not you, then I can see the benefits are more marginal.

I poked my nose back into twitter in the run-up to the UK election and holy hell it was like staring into an insane alternate reality.

Because Jabberwocky was already taken when I had to choose an XBox gamertag. Have used it on many platforms ever since except, annoyingly, twitch where someone else nabbed it.

BTW, I just wanted to give you kudos for staking your (eminently rational) position and not backing down and engaging with people calmly and politely. Can't be easy.

If it means anything, you’ve taught me more about history through your blog than I (an admittedly disinterested student) ever learnt in formal education.

Generally, if it’s part of the campaign setting. F’rex we once played a D&D game where the PCs were teachers at a magic academy. Or any game that’s set in a specific location like a city. Oh, and do spaceships count (e.g. Millennium Falcon)?

Also, if Ukraine captures any of them as POWs, maybe it should re-patriate them to South Korea :)

Is that a big number? I lack the background knowledge to know if that's a big deal or a token gesture.

I’ve read that in WW1 the idea of attritional war was so politically unpalatable that allied command had to maintain a fiction that the big breakthrough was coming any day now, even while they were changing their tactics to focus on inflicting losses not taking territory.

When I was a kid, I adored KSR's Mars trilogy and dreamed of Space colonisation, but as I've grown up I was rocked by the realisation that it would be a really horrible way to live. Locked in a tin can for the rest of your life with terrible food and never to see a tree or pet a kitten again.

It boggles my mind that these "opinion" writers can be so consistently wrong about everything for *years* and nobody seems to give a shit and we're still expected to treat their opinions seriously.

oof, I would not like to hold out a 10kg shield for the duration of a battle (how long would that be anyway?). Rest of it looks pretty reasonable, particularly as the mail is distributed on the body, not held in the hand.

as someone with a science/engineering background, I am very aware of the tendency of people with a science/engineering background to assume their expertise can be applied to fields about which they know nothing.
