Why do they call 'em standings, when every time I listen to a broadcast, they talk about which team is sitting atop the leaderboard. Are they sittings or standings? Come on, now!
I would. They call them ‘regular’, but have you looked at them? The numbers are all over the place. There’s no rhyme or reason to them at all. They should be called irregular season standings, and I wish someone would look into this false advertising soon.
Doesn't seem like it. Looking all around the comments and not a single person remotely cares. It's tempting to say "what a shame", but it's probably for the best
As a Cubs fan and EMU alum who spent several years in SeMI following some god-awful Tigers teams, watching Javy's resurgence and the Motor City Kitties play solid ball makes me really, really happy.
Ugh, don't even get me started on the Mariners. But hey, regular season standings? Bring it on! I'm all about dissecting the numbers after a long day at Work. Who's with me?
I’m really happy with how things are going with my favorite team, the Philadelphia Phillies. 30 wins, knocking on the door for 31. I’d say that’s pretty dandy.
now that sports is over @jonbois.bsky.social I wanted to circus back to this, send me an invite on your outlook calendar to let me know how this makes you feel
No, the baseball gods hate me. My white Sox broke a 62 year old record for futility last year & it looks like my Rockies will set a new record of humiliation.
See and I want to enjoy it while we have it and share my joy with others because we have no guarantees except that Muñoz is the greatest pitcher of all time.
And Cal is the biggest dumper that ever dumped - yes, yes. Love your enthusiasm, but I’ve been a fan of this god forsaken franchise for ~92% of my 45 years, and the only thing I know is attention and expectation leads to me turning into Joey Cora at the end of the 95 season.
Only team I’ve ever loved, only team I’ve ever felt physically ill supporting. I would and will do all the disappointment and joy all over again. And yeah, Cal Raleigh is my future ex-husband.
Even if it's clinched, I'm still holding my breath until the Mariners take the field in the ALDS. Some horrors could happen that like vacate wins or something and the 83 win Astros win the division by default
This is the first year I ever got into it and dodgers games are blacked out on the app (and the gifted jersey soured my stomach) so I went with cubs and it turned out to be perfect timing having a blast
The SF giants are the best but I don't have reliable data to support. I just know it to be true because I lived there when they won 3 world series in 5 years time.
Best/deepest bullpen in baseball right now. Starting rotation can be iffy at times. The offense has been very lackluster though with occasional timely bursts from Wilmer Flores and Heliot Ramos. Yet still in 2nd place, 2 games behind the LAD. Go Giants!!! 🧡🖤⚾️
I stopped following MLB when the NL stopped being a perfect round-robin of 5x18 (9 home 9 away for each of the other 5 times in the same division) + 6x12 (6 home 6 away for the 6 teams in the opposite division).
Once the scheduling of who played whom became a matter of discretion, it lost meaning.
I don't know what to say anymore. I've been a Rockies fan since day one in 1993 (I even went to the game at Mile High where they hatched Dinger!), but this season has put a massive strain on my allegiance to the team.
Hahah I’m a Pirates fan I get it. I survived 20 straight losing seasons. I got to the point of being able to not let it affect me and my mood. I’m still a fan of the team but it’s ancillary to my other sports fandoms now.
I can handle being a fan of a losing team, as the Rox haven't done much winning in their history, it's just that *this* team is still on pace to be the worst team in the history of the sport, which is a whole new realm of terrible. A 90 loss season would be a blessing at this point!
The Twins went on a 13 game win streak, we finally got a series win on CLE so I'm stoked. Lotta new players stepping up with injuries makes me hope the club vibes are good.

i mean we’ll fuck it before the postseason but we’re good for now
What a strange world we are in.
