This is the kind of campaign that’s going to catch a LOT of Dems sleeping in 2026.

Mostly because this woman is a Democrat and she’s running it now.
For some of her constituents this may be no issue or an actual positive symbol.
For some, it will be unrecognized.
But for some, it may be a symbol of violence, evil actions and/or antisemitism.
I don't think she's stupid either, but maybe naive.
I'm not sure, however, that "progressive" is going to be a winning ticket and have simply observed that progressive ideals may not serve up the voters she needs.
Many Democrats have learned nothing from 2025.
First, we have to win elections.
When did we hit a point where having an 80 year old politician in office is normal?
I mean we just saw a TX rep end up in a nursing home before her term ended.
It’s not bad to get fresh blood.
It doesn't always attract the kinds of people you actually want running for office
What's your advice for mid-career professionals?
Launching a campaign on BlueSky is fun for you and me; how many primary voters in IL-9 are on here?
However.
Honestly, I say go for it. Primary them all. People who have energy and verve and who are ready to meet the moment will defeat the primary challenge, and everyone else needs to go.
Pressley replacing Capuano in Boston is a great example. I doubt they vote that differently, but she's a huge improvement.

Turns out she's of Palestinian descent.
She is 80 years old.
I don't know anything about Kat, but I am okay with primarying an 80 year old who has been in office for 25 years and I've literally never heard her name before now.
I don’t think she has a chance in hell. This district is one has one of the largest Jewish populations in the country. I don’t her past message is going to fly
