When they stand between us and the violence our government inflicts on us instead of committing that violence, I'll respect the choices they've made to survive.
They create the majority of that violence. I don't think removing our rights in the name of security while causing the danger to begin with (and eternally ongoing) is deserving of respect.
Bro what violence are they standing between? I promise you there has never been a foreign threat to American lives in our lifetimes that has been stopped by US military intervention. Ooooh spooky brown people overseas watch out white man!!!!!
The pay is pretty good, when you count free food and housing. And then you get tens of thousands for college and the best healthcare in the world for the rest of your life.
Seriously? The military is packed with minorities and poor white people who had no other career options. Free college and healthcare for life is a pretty good deal.
Soldiers are fighting for oil and killing civilians and probably cheating on you he’s a scumbag, which is why I just fucked his mom to make a better son
I only mostly believe that, and mostly of north american soldiers. The US army is the world's biggest social welfare program, and the canadian armed forces are so boutique you need at least a bachelor's degree to get on the waitlist.
I’ve worn them outdoors in relatively cold (I live in Victoria) conditions, and while they do Jack-shit about wind, they’re quite warm, and surprisingly good at shedding rain.
I swear to god I’m not an investor, I just really find these comfortable. :)
Exactly. I've had good Sgts. and bad Sgts. I've even had good 2nd Lts. They are all just people. The worst ones are less aware that they are people. Or that those under them are.

Mass hate for people you've never met is such a disgusting personality trait. Yet here you are leading with it like you're proud of being incapable of distinguishing individual humans from each other. You sound exactly as moronic as the other side you target. I'm sure your momma's real proud.
Awww... you're living up to your name. I appreciate your assumptions about who you think I am and what I've done with life before this comment you put so much thought into. I know it's asking a lot to not be a shitty human but maybe give it a try sometime? 😘
I’m not, it’s the same bullshit reason Black people in the hood become cops. Fuck giving any validation to the most evil empire to ever exist on the planet and fuck you for making excuses for those who choose to support it for their own gain.
Imagine killing brown people thousands of miles away so Halliburton stock can rise and thinking that’s somehow honorable. Imagine holding hegemonic power over the entire global south just so people in the US can still drink lattes.
These pants are erotic dissent slinking through repression.
You will find yourself caught in a war waged not on the battlefield but in the beds of imagination. Those pants will haunt you until you're panting and begging for release.
Pajama pants turn to fetishes. Fetishes to rituals of inversion.
Is it healthy to wear plastic 6-8 hours a day? To buy plastic that will not break down ever, but will break apart destroying all of life that ingests it?
Disgusting, mocking the people that are responsible for defending our country. A lot of people who enlist want to better themselves with educational assistance and the only way they can get it is by serving. I’d say our government as a whole is failing our society not our troops.
2) yes self-important assholes will actually argue with people about wearing camp fashionably bc it hurts their teeny feelings. Seen it happen. More than once.
Please do not mock our soldiers. If you've got a beef, and it isn't what's for dinner, then be specific about the soldier and the beef. Otherwise, it is propaganda.
I apologize on your behalf to my heroes as represented by my picture below. Grand mothertruckin' Army of the Republic.
Me and my guys don't give a shit about you. Clearly, not many others do either, or you wouldn't be on here defending people who mock the dead and those of us who honor them.
Me and my guys say your guys are a bunch of punk asses. I’ve got all sorts of guys here too. Blue guys, purple guys. A guy with a chainsaw and a crazy hat. A guy named ka’otron, reaper of souls
you don't own them. also if they were good soldiers they wouldn't have died. they also would be memorable enough that you wouldn't need a whole ass day to remember them
it is too late
the pants are bought, the soldiers are mocked, and they can never be unmocked
the sooner we come to terms with this injustice, the better
Remembering sacrifice by good people is a way to fight injustice. The ones I revere--the GAR? They already fought it for you, and they died too. You don't want to see it. That is your problem, not mine. See: the fable about the flood, the three rescue boats, and the guy refusing to leave his roof.
@splitrailfence.bsky.social Meh as a former member of the US navy I and many of my generation really don't care, in fact it feels so weird to be "thanked" for our service. Most of us did it because it was our only chance to get to college, because our government held our educations hostage (1/3)
for a change to get killed. Especially after we learned how pointless our sacrifices were. I wish more people would thank me for my service for being a scientist, a person actually protecting the future, than thank me for working for the military industrial complex that soft of kind of (2/3)
And when the heroes I honored served, there was no Military Industrial Complex, and my heroes ended slavery. I am sorry your service was not for a greater cause and that you feel it was wasted. Please do not project that onto our GAR. I read their diaries and letters, and they were dedicated.
The politics and ethics of war are so complex, so thank you so much for explaining why it's so painful to see mockery of army symbols when you're a soldier or you knew a soldier who nobly sacrificed their lives to serve their community/country. 1/5
@splitrailfence.bsky.social BTw out of the 250 years the US army has existed, we have only ever been the good guys 25 years of that. Most of it was killing natives, subjugating Filipinos and Latinos, "fighting communism" or "terrorism" under false pretenses and lies. Stealing land from (1/3)
Wow, we know we've got a seriously feeble moral character when we're scolding people for giving thanks. That is a new one. I get your point, and I am thankful you're a scientist. But putting one's life on the line deserves thanks. Also, many of the GAR that you've made fun of were scientists too.
It's extremely odd to me that you are so controlling that you actually are telling us what we should thank and why. All I said is if we are to disrespect soldiers, at least give some evidence why they are to be disrespected. People like you are almost as bad as MAGA when it comes to bossy and mean.
No, gamer, it is a Civil War Union army thing. It is why slavery ended. Not some stupid fantasy you get lost in because you hate your life. Fucking disrespecting the people who died to end slavery on MLK Day. Sicko.
What? Who can we call to get you help? I mean this with concern. I don't understand what is hard about the northern states forming the Union Army in the US Civil War from 1861-1865. Are you part of the generations that don't get educations? I read Civil War papers to study war strategy.
I was wrong to join in, it's just that when someone says "never disrespect the military" I have to, on principle, because to follow that demand leads to very bad things. And also because the US military has committed terrible atrocities. But I digress. You used the word "mothertruckin" you need help
GAR is Grand Army of the Republic. They are the Union Army who defeated the Confederate States of America in the US Civil War 1861 to 1865. Could that be why those dates are on the star? These markers are placed by the headstones of Union CW veterans. I maintain them to honor our heroes.
Comments
They do not (in the case of the US) inflict violence on citizens, as they are prohibited from operating in the USA.
They DO, in the form of the National Guard, operate in cases of natural disaster relief.
So, a little respect.

which makes finding soldiers to mock that much more fun
What military uses this camouflage pattern?
They also have pockets (side & back) for those times you have to run to the store and can’t be arsed to put on real clothes.
Highly recommend.
I swear to god I’m not an investor, I just really find these comfortable. :)

What was the shipping on that? Should I YOLObuy20 and min/max my disrespect to max the shipping value?
So many possibilities emerge in how to properly utilize camo to show maximum disrespect at minimum cost.
