Thank you! All the doom and gloom, horrific happenings, rage and despairβ¦
Then a lovely mushroom π
Kinda breaks it up, gives us a chance to take a breath.
I don't know why, but I love to look at my mushroom. I like to collect mushrooms. I wanna know everything about them. I want to know if they're edible . I wanna know if their medicine antibiotics. And I like to expand my brain.
Sorry to just drop this here but we're desperate.
Really sorry.
Can anyone please help me share my fundraiser or even contribute IF you can spare it? I don't have the reach to make anything happen but I HAVE to get my family somewhere safer. please. https://gofund.me/dc81cd08
Iβll be honest, you might be providing a valuable service if you include whether or not the plant is edible, poisonous or hallucinogenic. We may all be scavenging soonβ¦
Dude ever since you introduced me to that one guy that talks about coral I keep seeing coral in all the mushrooms that you post and now I want to dive deeper into how coral and mushrooms are very similar!!
Dude I started looking up yeast and its properties because the way yeast grows is similar to how mushrooms and coral grows, its all connected and so cool to learn about.
Every New Years I put "learn about mushrooms" on my to-do list and then never get around to it. Walking through the woods in North Idaho I kept seeing a constant variety. I'm never sure which are safe.
sehr spannend, ich hatte gelbstieliger Muschelseitling vermutet, aber nun gelernt, dass es da in Nordamerika eine Art gibt, die ich nicht kannte. Sarcomyxa serotina
I read today that the largest living organism is a fungus living in Oregon that has been alive over a thousamd years. I thought of you when I read that.
Well Iβm in Orlando and donβt know anything about mushrooms but somehow your lovely photos come up, guess I follow you, would love to know more and about which are edible lol
Your fungal photos are much better than anything Iβll ever do with a ukulele. I can only pluck each string from top down once and sing βMy Dog Has Fleasβ to it.
I discovered the first time I grew sunflowers is that the seeds make a spiral from the middle out
I guess I noticed because I looked at them every day
God I miss my garden
As I see these beautiful pictures Iβm reminded of my first husband and his quest to find or grow psilocybin mushrooms when I was pregnant and we were homeless.
A friend came into town in a sports car he bought in cash after finding them in Florida.
Every time I see your nice mushroom pictures I want to go into the forest and find some to share. Maybe some birch polypores? Those are nice, like fungus marshmallows, at lest when young.

Will send around + repost, thank you! π
The largest by mass is Pando, a colony of quaking aspens in Utah; but the largest single stem tree is a giant sequoia.
Quaking aspens are cool in that a stand of them is probably a single organism, with connected roots
I guess I noticed because I looked at them every day

These are some real nice mushrooms too
You always post the nice ones, but there has to be at least one mushroom somewhere thatβs kind of a prick.
Awesome! Thank you!

Ex never found or grew them.
(Sorry. Great photo of mushrooms.)
I'm thinking you already know about the mycorrhizal network?
