Look who came up the driveway this afternoon!!!! You've never seen me grab my camera so fast. Unfortunately, I had to shoot through a dirty window in low light, so it's a bit fuzzy. Still! Lynx!! In my yard!!! Look at those big fluffy paws! 🦊🌿

They’re not really deadly to humans. They could do some serious damage, but have no interest in us. They are, however, very deadly to hares and other small mammals.
Hey, that’s the one we used to have in our yard every day - I hadn’t seen him in weeks and was getting worried about him.
Thanks for finding my missing Lynx!
For a while I lived in a town where there were occasional bobcats, but I never saw any. Saw a fair number of coyotes, though, which are also very cool in their way.
Poor thing. Ours moved around, lowering the rabbit population in one spot before shifting to the next, so we saw them when they were in our area. They almost always looked healthy and well-fed. Pretty used to people, too, so they'd move away when people approached, but they didn't run in panic.
I LOVE these guys!
We have two that roam the woods surrounding the house. The fm scream this awful sound if they are frightened! In heat it is even worse. It is horrible, sounds like a baby screaming. Now, I try very hard to never scare them again!
The world is entering a downswing of history. I'm not ashamed to shill my dad's book that covers electricity, ammo, water, food, health, and sustainability. These topics are covered in ways that other books do not. Especially making, storing and using electricity.
I am a male wild lynx & have many girlfriend wild lynxes. I resent your disapproval of cuddling my kind.
We are great at cuddling!
We especially like it when you come to us naked and covered in a light cream sauce, and lie down flat. It makes cuddles (eating your face off) so much nicer.
Thanks!
This pic is the *epitome* of "If not friend, why friend-shaped?" 🤣 I would absolutely give a little, "Here, kitty, kitty" and try to bribe with treats.
wow, what a get. Was your heart pounding while you tried to focus. I can remember times I was breathing hard and trying to stop my hands from shaking though not for anything like this
Beautiful animal. Do you see wildlife often around your house?
I had the luck of seeing one in Yoho National Park. We just sat quietly in the car watching it walk through the snowy woods. It was cold and on a remote road so no one else was around. Fantastic to see one out in the wild.
I mention being the only car there for people who aren’t familiar with summer bear sightings in the area.
I can’t find a good image of it via google but you can sometimes see 15-25 cars stopped and people getting out - and often getting too close. So you end up with photos like these.
We mainly just see possums, rabbits, and small geckos. Plus some non-native ugly large ducks (or small geese?) that poop everywhere and stand in the roads.
When I lived in Calgary by the bluff north of downtown, we would see more fun things like foxes and hares.
Ohh!! We have these but i have never in my life seen one live.
This woman saw one though and the beast was irritable and slashed at the laundry she was hanging up.

I hope he catches lots of rabbits

That’s probably how I’ll die one day.

They look so fat and slow when walking around, but they can sprint!
They remind me of the two states of an alligator - sedentary and super quick.
Volunteering at an exotic wildlife sanctuary was the best gig I’ve EVER had. Ever.
But I’m glad you had the chance to see the bear named Grinder wake up from hibernation.
That name must have been an intentional joke. 😁
