I post one gym pic with an arm flex. Post about men’s confused and harmful reactions to visibility muscular / athletic women.
Now my mentions are in meltdown about trans women in sports.
Deflecting from the actual issue - men’s insecurities and urge to control what women should be or look like.

MAGAt will want to soon illegalize what cis women can & can't do, what they can & can't wear. They'll start legalizing grooming "standards" for cis women.
All in an effort to purge trans-women's existence.
Not a legal norm.
It doesn't "feel" different because social pressure is a real problem. But it's different than regulating in a legal framework.

Trump is the #1 example: if his pride takes a hit, he'll take food away from kids to retaliate against a state.
The level you're talking about is equally dangerous, not to the insecure men, but to everyone around them.

Women have always been allowed to compete in open meets, men must
Be you, Karen. 👍🏾💪🏾
Apparently, the kind that never got past puberty....
Everyone knows it's not universal among individuals. It doesn't change what is happening at a social level.
Saying "men" is a pretty darn large umbrella.
Or is every comment on any post a 'deflection' now?
Oy.
So what are the *some* of you doing about the *rest* of you?
Or we start teaching our kids to pledge allegiance -- to Russia.
Can't fight hate, with hate.
But that's just my opinion. Your mileage may vary, as they say.
Thanks for posting - sorry about the drama - agree on all points.
Meaning the deeper the insecure dig their protective holes, the harder it is to pull them out of it.
Not a solution but knowing the issue is a step towards resolving it at least. 🤷
The kicker here is his dehumanizing and gaslighting those who call out his sexism and racism.
But a woman does it? All the insecure men come out to reveal themselves.
It’s almost *too* easy.
They’re so, so, pitifully sad. I wish they had an iota of self-awareness.
2. Remember the freaking meltdown over Michelle Obama's bare arms?
To me, one of the saddest & incomprehensible things is people not actually being aware we are living in a patriarchy.
Keep posting your gym photos. It surely inspires others to get fit.
Enough men perpetrate this behavior that, for their safety, women must generalize and paint with a broad brush.
If you have a handful of berries, and you know some of them are poisonous...
Not all men are predators, but many are. How is anyone supposed to know...
More importantly, what are you, as a man, doing about it?
I hope you're calling out the shitty behavior of other men. I hope you're shaming them.
If you're about protecting women, you don't enable monsters. They need to hear it from other men. The 'good' men.
Someday, the body image Gestapo shit will fall out of fashion, and people of all shapes can just be & be kind.
…I hope.
Meanwhile, strength training is good for everyone.
Any woman who looks even remotely muscular or is good at a sport could be subject to doubt, hormonal tests, genitalia searches.
And I honestly don’t have a good answer how to react to incredibly insecure men. Any little slight and they can blow.
I recommend sabotaging them however possible.
Meant to agree they don’t get same cultural attention
thrilled for any individual invested in their personal health.🫶🏼💜💪🏼
I'm referencing the laws being passed now. The Republicans are specifically mentioning trans women and women's sports.
All that white women will need to do is accuse their non-white opponent of not being a woman. And men will come to destroy to feel “protective”.
Female bodybuilding divisions reducing emphasis on upper body development (despite tons of steroids being used anyway).
There will be a lot of pressure for women to look frail and weak.
You, uh, realize that heavily pancaked makeup look is “feminine” because that's the norm you expect from cis women, right?
them: 😡
I find these conversations interesting because it says a lot about gender and power in this country.
You're inspiring young women to assert themselves.
You're giving them permission to be free.
Bless you.
Thank you for being.
But the systematic assault has been centered on women, women’s sports, and will extend to beyond the sports arena as well.
And frankly, it will be directed at men who don’t fit a narrow mold.
The root of it all is male insecurity.

But it is simply untrue that men’s sports are getting the same scrutiny as women’s and girl’s sports.
I've been harassed in restrooms since I was 12.

Still, what a yucky pain in the ass.
When the transphobia kicked into gear in Trump’s first term it got worse: men following women with short hair or cargo shorts into the bathroom to confront them.
(I am gay so this isn't some random dude being weird)

Trying to keep women skinny & frail doesn’t just make our bodies weak, but our minds too. When I was deep in diet culture at least 75% of my brain power was—
It isn’t a coincidence that the same time I ditched diets was about the same time I got politically engaged & the same time I started dedicating more time to my art.
Besides, I find it interesting men think about wrestling and fighting when muscles are good for other things?
Saving people? Helping people move furniture? Carrying elders who have fallen?
Like, bro, guns are the top cause of child death. Why don't you think about fire safety, anchoring your furniture, securing poisonous chemicals, safe driving, or sex ed instead of murdering someone?
And this stereotyping has deep ties to the slavery South and the defining of Black enslaved women as equivalent to beasts. Unacceptable then, worse now.
I’m so sorry.
(See: No Mercy Here by Sarah Haley)
I think it's a confrontation with their own insecurities and they can't handle it.
Please post it again. And again. Greetings from the Netherlands.
I tried it for a bit, but the "get up and go to the gym" part was the hardest to do. I always pushed it off or was too tired.
Policing femininity, misgendering cis women, sometimes with violence, and invasive genital examination of young athletes all are looming. We should defend our trans sisters because it’s just, but also to protect ourselves.
