Every day it seems new conflicts arise between President Trump and the courts. Prompting another round of the question: Are we in a constitutional crisis?

And I believe the president needs to be arrested along with this entire cabinet!! #arrestthepresident #you’vegottheevidence #thatfelonisrussianintelligence #arrestedolfmuskalini #firetheduihire #arrestthemall
What else would be expected by this administration? Justice Alito, that is why in the middle of the night justice has to be done. You and your cronies on the High Court are responsible for not quelling this when injustice was held in 2.0's first administration.
Another round? You apparently missed the round that occurred several rounds ago culminating in a historical issuance of a 12:45 am Supreme Court weekend opinion. The people who write your headlines just underscore Congress’ desire to defund NPR. What could it hurt with headlines like these?
That's for the Supreme Court to answer now. If they side with Trump, no doubt about the crisis, if they don't, we can keep trying to forestall the crisis.
I swear the mainstream media could look at the charred remains of a house burned down by arson and would only at that point ask "Is the house on fire?"
I thought NPR was better than that, but I guess not.
I think the time to stop pretending everything is normal but off is long over. MFs need to act accordingly… he is trying to be King and it’s gonna be too late to act the way people keep on keepin on daily.
Yes, of course we are in a constitutional crisis. We have a president that doesn’t respect the rule of law thus we will continue to be in a constructional crisis until he is out of office!
I absolutely beg of you. I listened to NPR for decades growing up. And now I’ve turned away from your coverage entirely as I can not listen o the complete equivocation and your turn away from real actual good coverage of what’s happening to this country. For shame!
The Supreme Court created this crisis. It said Trump is immune to the rule of law, so they are unable to hold him accountable. So this mess is entirely their fault, and they sold their power of checks and balances years ago.
The problem with the courts is that their rulings are obviously too 'lawyer talk' for them. They need to render their rulings as if speaking to 6 year olds.
We will know it when we see it 😳. The Trump Administration will Defy SCOTUS and deport people in defiance of the court order 😬. I have no idea what will happen next 🫣👎🏾
NPR, please don't go down the road some of these big law firms have taken in surgically detaching their souls, loading them into a glowing bucket of KFC, & offering this soul food to our Dear Leader to be scarfed digested, & plooped into one of his many gilded toilets for the Final Solution: sewage!
Huh, WAKE-UP 👀 "WE-THE-PEOPLE" AND DON'T BE BAMBOOZLED😵💫⁉️
If a tyrannical sitting POTUS does not uphold the constitution and has no intention to do so, we are in a "lack of enforcement" of the CONSTITUTION CRISIS‼️🤔😡
“Question”? “Are we in a constitutional crisis?”!?!?!
You people need to get out more. We have been in a constitutional crisis for months now. That you’re still wondering about it speaks to the insulation from reality you appear to be living in.
Dear NPR, if you’re still asking this question its likely that a constitutional crisis can walk up and slap you across the face and you’d still ask if we’re in one. I’d say buy a clue but that would probably go over your heads. 🫤
NPR, wtf? We’ve been in Constitutional crisis since Day 1 when he issued executive orders that republicans treat as if they are stone tablets Trump hand carved w/ God’s own blessing. DOGE. Human trafficking to CECOT. Signalgate. The entire regime is an existential Constitutional crisis.
This is a pathetic attempt at “journalism.” Gee, the President repeatedly ignores facts, laws, courts, The Constitution. Could this be a crisis? Check in next week to see if there are any additional examples.
Ya think? Was it his violation of the first amendment that gave it away (AP exclusion)? Or maybe his violation of the 14th (attempting to end birthright citizenship)? Does he have to set the goddamn document on fire on live TV from the south lawn for you to get a fucking clue???
I get that it doesn't follow yesterday's journalistic standards to just call it a constitutional crisis rather than a "question". But it's the only response that doesn't minimize the crisis we are in today.
Congress is afraid. A violent mob attacked their workplace 4 years ago and almost reached them. Shots were fired. Now the guy in charge of that mob has a military. Further, to act against him is for yourself and family not to be safe in public because Trump and Elon put out APBs to their cults.
All understandable, but excuse me if I have little sympathy for these hot dog suit wearers. They owe an independent duty to the American people and if they are unable to find the courage to discharge those duties they need to resign and make room for other people, who can and will do the duty.
The media, court judges, and lawyers around the country are advising that US citizenship doesn't guarantee you won't get deported without trial. Many other civil rights are being lost on a daily basis under the current Orange Circus. It's only a matter of time before martial law becomes official.
Who decides such a thing? Hundreds of thousands of people in the streets demonstrating against Orange have already decided: constitutional crisis is HERE. Hands Off!
If NPR wants to know why people are not juiced about donating to save them, it is because Teen Vogue, Rolling Stone, Wired and occasionally the Atlantic - have better journalistic standards. 🤷♂️
America has been in a daily constitutional crisis since January 20. Patriotic republican lawmakers are needed to step up and rescue our once great nation from this hideous autocracy
🍊🤡 has yet to meet a red line he’s not willing to cross. Just look at his life before/after politics, there are plenty of examples. SCOTUS’ ruling on presidential immunity for “official acts” opened the door for his now brazen disregard of any norms or laws. He’ll continue to push the all limits.💁🏻♀️
What is wrong with you? If you want to be believed as a news source, you must report accurately. Is Trump following orders given by the courts? No. We are in a constitutional crisis now.
It began when a convicted felon insurrectionist was elected to execute the laws of our country.
He should have been disqualified like our Constitution originally set forth. That no one involved in overthrowing our Constitution should be allowed to run for President.
Nice Polite Republicans refuses to bite the hand that feeds them a pittance of their funding to the detriment of their audience that provides a substantial amount of funding.
I'm not sure how there can be conflicts...only impeachments...

NPR: Hmm, this President Trump guy really seems to like authoritarianism. Could he want to install himself as dictator-for-life? Let's look at everything he's ever said, and still not come to a useful conclusion, because we never do.
The only thing more enraging than being in a constitutional crisis...
…is spending years surrounded by people who repeatedly ask “are we in a constitutional crisis?” rather than showing some backbone and admitting we are in one and what we now need to do about it.
Do we even have enough courts to handle all the lawsuits that will inevitably be filed against this administration that purposely breaks laws as though running the country is a game to cheat at with a 35-50% chance of getting away with it?
Let’s see. Trump is refusing to follow orders from the Supreme Court. There is no rule of law. The Trump Admin is disregarding much of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
I wonder if there is a phrase that would describe the crisis we are in with the Admin’s disregard for the Constitution?
Every day it seems new conflicts are never the tipping point for mainstream media new sources to ever actually state that yes we are in a constitutional crisis. Instead, those same news sources remain paralyzed by their need to remain to appear unbiased - even when the truth is *blatantly* obvious.
"And now experts, like science fiction author John Scalzi, who have mercilessly crushed the flat earther position, are now seriously considering the possibility that the cheese mooners have gotten it right."

DEFINITELY play the "So nation-in-crisis, we ponder...is what we're seeing REALLY what we're seeing?" angle. That should certainly stop the train.
👍
We all know that we are.
Rich, influential fools are in denial.
I mean, fellas. Come on.
Are you trolling Americans, or are you just that incompetent?
I thought NPR was better than that, but I guess not.

This is how the Nazis ended up building gas chambers.
Brazen constitutional bulldozing in the 1930's while morons stood around saying "Do you think we have a problem here?
Get a grip.
(Or are you frightened of losing your funding so u minimizing shit)
This is not hard.
NPR's answer: 🤷♀️
This is not Groundhog Day.
But but but…both sides, I guess. 🙄
He meant the current state of it slipping into oblivion was a possibility that could occur: from the LACK OF CITIZEN'S SUPPORT.
That you refuse to report it as fact illustrated how untrustworthy NPR is as a "news" organization.

And that definitely means an orange 🍊 ass 🤡
Wow what insightful journalism.
Still downplaying that this was a
coup d'é·tat all along by an Insane Madman and his Oligarchy friends are we?
@npr.org
The way out of President vs. Courts is resolution of the conflict by Congress. Congress so far has not chosen to act.
we are there, NPR... hope that helps
Shameful failure of journalistic responsibility.
We’re in a catastrophe
We’re way past a simple little crisis.
Why ask a ridiculous question that you clearly know the answer is YES? Instead, clearly state what you tip toe around.

I know you are too scared to make a statement about it tho.
Asking the question is either an attempt at pretending this is fine, or an utter failure to see the US for what it has become.
…is spending years surrounded by people who repeatedly ask “are we in a constitutional crisis?” rather than showing some backbone and admitting we are in one and what we now need to do about it.
JFC, grow some goddamn balls, NPR.
She does quote Judge Wilkinson tbf, who is clear on the stakes
And doesn't use the word crisis
More salient than crisis/not yet crisis, Trump is hostile to our Constitution and to due process as such
It's way past time to act.
Hero's : take courage and JUST DO IT ALREADY
@nytpitchbot.bsky.social
Not realllllly a question at this point.
Cover it that way.
The constituion is a set of rules to follow, not be challenged every day in new and untried ways.
I wonder if there is a phrase that would describe the crisis we are in with the Admin’s disregard for the Constitution?
