I too felt this when Trump won the first time. Back. Then it was "Keeping it 1600". I was angry at myself, I was angry at them. But I got over it. They aren't the enemy.
I mean to be fair they did organize tens of thousands of volunteers for the election who door knocked and called in swing states. I don’t think Dems can afford to be ‘all or nothing/cancel culture’ right now to all our coalition and allies.
Cool but that’s not the reaction many people had when I canvassed. Many asked questions and got clarity on issues. To each their own 🤷♀️ canvassing has proven to work in the data and where Harris did it the most she lost by less.
They’ve raised a massive amount of money for what I consider to be good causes. Also dems performed extremely well in 2018, 2020, and 2022. Feels a little pick and choosey to not call them out till after the bad dem loss.
Those people and James Carville need to STFU for the rest of their natural lives and never speak in public ever again. And the Harris staffers need to get out of politics for eternity. The Democratic Party should either be fully gutted or abandoned entirely. It’s rotten to its core and useless.
Love when they try so hard to come across as everymen and then Favreau will just drop a cute anecdote about riding in a car with Obama as if it's just a normal thing
Their staff unionized bec of low pay and no credit for production. Favs just bought a $10M house in LA, per reports. Favs is going all tech bro. Pod Save Gulfstream is next.
This comment section looks like X. What a shame. Sure let’s attack each other and demonize people trying to help. They raised funds and awareness but we didn’t win so it’s those 4 guys fault! Ridiculous
Not a damn thing will change if it means having to admit progressives have been right about anything. The last eight years have been an attempt to pretend leftist populism isn’t as popular as it very clearly is
I haven't checked in on the Podjohns for a bit. They like... saying we need to move right more, throw trans people under the bus, nuke the border? What's going on?
basically, they had a guy David Plouffe on a few days ago, who was a big advisor on the Harris campaign, and he was talking about the importance of winning the moderate vote. its similar to 2016, they wanna attract like the 10 people that hate trump but love the Cheney family
wondering when someone will realize it’s time to court the far left bernie voters instead cuz they’re the ones that f us over every time by exercising
their right *not* to vote
Liberals need to recognize that a higher DOW doesn't mean a good economy. Lecturing workers struggling to buy groceries about how good things really are doesn't work. Rather than trying to attract lapsed Republicans how about lapsed Democrats who have lost faith in the party of the working class?
Really? The personifications of feckless yet overconfident centrism who look back on the Obama years with the necessary reverence, those guys didn't get this one right?
Don't worry everyone, I'm sure they have a good and accurate idea of who is to blame for the loss.
This is my fault for starting a podcast in the aughts called “Pod Completely Fuck Over America” and owning the copyright on that name, forcing them to go with their second choice.
I admit, I jumped on the PodSave bandwagon a few years ago. But during this last year with Biden's decline, it was clear they were shilling for corporate Dems. And then they said nothing about Gaza until they were forced to by their audience, and still find ways to excuse accountability for it.
Neo liberalism never failed us before!? Who doesn't love Liz Cheney!? Economic populism!? Psh we'll make up for every one of those "progressives" with 2 regretful Trump voters! Hey Oprah, here's a million dollars!
Hasan did Pod Save America last night and said he went like 2 hours over their allotted time. I'm very interested to hear what he said to the pod johns.
Its funny, Hasan did an interview with jon favreau a couple weeks before the election and laid out his worries about how the Harris campaign could lose and everyone in the youtube comments post-election are like this guy called it why did not one listen to him.
Yeah I mean it was pretty obvious for awhile. Unfortunately we have a lot of people who treat politics like rooting for your college football team, or player, and not actually being critical. It's a real concern because if the Democrats can go the way of the whigs if people aren't more observant.
💯. I'm not as worried about the current dem party going the way of the whigs tho. I fear the opposite, where those out of touch kamala consultants and staffers get hired again to lose in 2028.
When they invited Tommy on the Majority Report before the election I really needed to start taking a look at my media sources. Emma has become insufferable to listen to with her misogyny stance on this election. When I lose something I take a look at how I can do better not blame everyone around me.
It's undeniable that misogyny played SOME part in this election. We have countless interviews or clips on YT to prove this. Lots of women freak out over the thought of a woman running the country, and that goes double for men. Emma is correct, and one of the few people I still respect in the space.
this whole interview made my blood boil, useless consultant class ghouls whining about how hard their jobs are and how if only a few points moved in the other direction. no mention at ALL of non-voters, how to appeal to them and get turnout up, its all "we gotta appeal to moderates!" christ
it's always been a dumbass name because wtf is "god save america?" nobody says that. "God save _____" survey 1000 people and none will say America. It should've been Pod Bless America, but I assume they are horrid and dumb
This was right below an article on my feed about orcas wearing salmon on their heads. I thought the two things were related somehow. Political killer whale protest sounds good.
its still the funniest thing that they started podcasting as a way to kill time while they waited for their inevitable jobs in the Hillary administration and then whoops, looks like that's all you'll be doing for the rest of your lives kids

Apparently it’s already working in Brazil

They have raised duckets for downballot
Don't worry everyone, I'm sure they have a good and accurate idea of who is to blame for the loss.
... and, they're fine, either way.
