Check out the game Hell Let Loose -- WWII combat based on actual battles. You play on a small 5 man squad, but there's a leadership hierarchy: your squad leader reports up to command, which reports up to a general who leads the whole front (all real people). At the top it's more of a meta game.
You’re one of the only reasons I open TikTok, I love your break downs and I think you reaching more people and a wider audience can only be a good thing.
Yes. Make sure you have some decent moderators lined up to keep an eye on your chat. It can be difficult to keep up if you have a lot of chatters. Something like a chat bot can help keep things tidy as well. Fossabot is a great one. https://fossabot.com/
If you can convince Harris & Biden to Devote MASSIVE RESOURCES TO Investigate HACKED MACHINES I TRIED TO CONVINCE THEM ABOUT I WILL SEND YOU A GIFT OF SOME SORT. This is no time to give up !!! I will give you a GOLD MEDAL !!!
Sounds rad! Just make sure you have a good microphone, moderators ready to handle chat, and stay hydrated!
The youth don't even know what they don't know. We need more people bringing information to youth spaces like streaming.
Yes, but if you are new new to streaming the documentation to grok the platform can be initially daunting. But learn OBS, capture card type shit, and you should be good. Would love you and Zealand doing history streams.
Been listening to a History Podcast about the Cold War from American History Tellers to examine a previous time when the RW ran amok and the mad Scientists (think Tech Bros) were given carte blanche who put the population in grave danger with Nuclear experiments inter alia
I suspect you are going to find that just as many people will want to engage with you in a 'Just Chatting' format as game streaming. Maybe consider planning ahead to devote the first X minutes of the stream to engaging directly with the audience before booting up the game...?
Online spaces related to gaming are a gateway drug to right wing ideology because the creators don't care about curating positive messaging/combating misinfo. So so important that we combat this with communities that embrace positive values, especially for young people.
This would be an awesome idea.
Games set in historical times to discuss the history around the game's settings and/or content.
This is a great way to do educational endeavors for a streamer in a more fun and entertaining way.
Its like getting cool facts in an enjoyable manner.
Do you think you could write a long form essay on "what the politics of ace combat zero means for our current political moment" and get it published by the NYT.
I love your comments and analysis so history would be my jam. This granny doesn't have time for new tricks so I'll leave Twitch for the more media savvy.
You know...that would probably work really well for getting ppl to actually pay attention to what you're saying... maybe we get ppl playing train builders to talk transit
I’d LOVE this but a fair warning: streaming requires WAY more energy, dedication, and free time than you think. you gotta stay very consistent with your stream schedule and do it as much as possible to build an audience. alternatively: have a collective account with multiple alternating hosts

Is it even possible?
