Happy Winter Solstice!
These photos were taken with a pinhole camera I made from a beer can and left out from Summer to Winter Solstice - a 6 month exposure.
Bottom line = Winter Solstice. Top line = Summer Solstice.
The lines are the Sun moving across the sky w/some reflections. No line = clouds

(I'm mostly impressed that the cars are parked in the same place. π)
What did you use for your negative (or positive)?

And creative
Wonderful pictures with a lot of science behind!π
Science rocks!
But a beer can is a first for me π
I try to turn off my tech brain and enjoy the pretty pictures, I try :-)
It's been a while since I introduced light to gelatine... :-(
About 23 years ago I taught a tech class and had my students make pinhole cameras out of cardboard, oak tag, foil, electrical tape and dowels. Took 35mm film.
I wonder what else simply didnβt stay still long enough in your series!
(Yes, I know I could youtube it... but this way seems more socially appealing somehow)

This vid uses household supplies for the "chemicals," like vitamin C.
Used a b+w darkroom back in the 80s, haven't quite got to the point of marrying old ways with the new.
Look forward to seeing more of your process.

That is thuh COOLEST thing I've seen jn a LONG time.π²π€©
I love a low tech trick like that.
I'm just a very average gal who likes to keep her mind active with way too many projects, bluesky is a creative outlet for me as my family glaze over when I discuss my upcoming projects. π Just built Wasp cam 2025 for the European paper wasps if they nest here again.
I'll upload a video in 15 minutes or so.

I'm going to say a thing even though I hate when people immediately introduce capitalism/commerce into art: I'd buy a print of that green one.
I imagine the photos would be pretty grainy when printed though I think that adds to the photo considering it was taken with a beer can stuck to the side of a tripod for 6 months and endured rain, lots of snow and then Summer temps.
What a great idea and result!!
