I want one of these myself but the version I want retails for $9500 and my "grew up poor" brain literally cannot spend near ten grand on a chair, even with included ottoman. I've decided that once Scalzi Enterprises does its first really big deal, I'll get one as a reward. Not until then.

The NDA means you won't be able to post about the film deal, but the photo of you in the chairβ¦
I wonβt sit in it, wonβt hand her her coffee while sheβs in it, nothing. If it gets damaged or stained, sheβll be why.
(Currently laughing because I'm having a hard time spending $10,000 in the Sims in *fake* money that cost me absolutely $0 of real money, because That's Just A Lot Of Money, Okay! lol)
Meanwhile a beautiful piece of furniture is an investment π
But, damn, I would like a real Eames. Or even a good knockoff, though those are pricey too.
Right?
Honestly, that would make an amazing author picture, too.
Anyway, they're very low. You might want to check you're OK with that before committing.
(I grew up poor-- we definitely didn't buy it. We found it by the dumpster and hauled it to the apartment chortling the whole time.)
Not that Iβm likely to ever be in a position to buy one. π
But I've sat in the Real Thing before and ITS WORTH IT DAMMIT
Living vicariously through your characters? π
(I believe it was also one of the pieces of furniture with random patches of electrical tape on it, because cats.)
Hey John... if you buy that one, I'll race you for pink-slips. π
Then we bought one with a black/white checked pattern for another room. Not leather though.
Design Within Reach has them on sale several times a year between 20-25% off.
The longer you wait, the less true that might prove for you
Someone with ~10M is a rounding error comparatively.
Even though this chair is perfect for my needs and my tastes, I can't fathom spending $5000 for the chair and $2000 for the ottoman.
It is indeed a righteous piece of art furniture.
Our brother and his girlfriend literally fucked it to pieces when they stayed there for a while.
It's long ago.
It was a dumpster find.
We didn't know.
Blah blah
Not helping I guess.
My in-laws have a pair of these. I had NO IDEA they were so expensive.
But if I ever really win big Iβll get the genuine article, absolutely.
