Sadly with these, the majority of people who participate then go out the next day and do all the same shopping plus decide to "treat" themselves with a few extra purchases. The 1 day avg. sales will go down, but there will usually be an increase in the 48 hr. overall sales. Don't splurge tomorrow.

It's economic signalling. You accomplish a few things:
1) Proves to opponents that you are able to gather people and act together
2) Trllss companies that their actions have consequences
3) Doesn't create downstream faults that cause folks to lose their jobs

Same here. But I am bothered by the idea that it could play into what those running the show actually want. Could they be profiting from uncertainty and downturns of market value caused by such actions? i.e Walmart's billionaires lose out but government billionaires reap profits by playing markets?

I came so close to mindlessly re-ordering a vitamin online this morning. Granted, it is a small business but I would have had to use my credit card. I'll do it tomorrow or Sunday *shrug*

Same. We have a Target and drug store and supermarket chains of course, that's it. I will not be in any of those places today. And have no plans to EVER set foot back in Target.

And it’s even better when you change your shopping habits permanently to give as little money to oligarch controlled companies like Walmart, Amazon, and Target.

Switch to local alternatives where you can, and Costco for S much else as you can.

Most days out of the year, I buy nothing anyway. Probably 85% of the days of the year, I buy nothing.
