I thought the idea was to get away from twitter/X. So why are you all copying it. How about Clouds. Or Sklouds. They pass through the sky and can be pretty shapes, dark and thunderous, light and airy, different shapes depending on the viewer.
Right there with you. “Skeet” already has a connotation and context, and it’s…different from what I think people intend w posts. But I’ve been wrong before! Maybe “skytes”?
Why reinforce something that was probably a VC fund prop? “Tweets” became viral and defined concisely what twitter offered. We only used the alternative terminology because it created an active conversation about a platform that emerged as an institution. Elon grossly violated the social contract.
It doesn't say Reskeet on the bottom that's why I'm not sure. is there any other word that could possibly come up when you're posting as a name for it?
I honestly hadn't heard that term until just now, but as soon as I read it, my neurodivergent brain immediately began singing "to the window, to the wall, skeet skeet skeet..."
The problem with "posts" is that it is entirely bereft of fun.
I prefer "bleet" (and the idiots will call people here sheep anyway, so what), but people who mention that "tweet" is up for grabs have a point. Do people in The Hellhole still "tweet"?
TBH you native English speakers, put too much weight on words "slang" use. Not on the original meaning, you really use a lot of words in different slang. Skeets here is in it's (for me at least): "shooting clay-birds". Quite fitting, considering the old Twitter logo...just saying
I’m fully in favor of, “posts”.
BUT if people are insistent on naming them something so they don’t have to say the unbearably long <>, “Blue Sky post”.
Might I suggest: Ripple, short form: rip.
Tweet worked because the logo was a bird. I’m thinking butterfly effect, here.
I was thinking of flutter instead of blue sky to go with the butterfly a different name for posts is much harder if we stick with the butterfly theme then grubs is all I’ve got
Ok, hear me out. The logo is a butterfly so I'd argue 'flutters' would suit, & since butterflies were originally called flutterbys, that also tracks. 🦋
Flights and flutters is what I want. But who am I with my 500 followers? Someday I will post a flight about it. And if a thread starts, we can save my flutter filled with clatter and clutter 🦋
how about, blues? ("I guess that's why they call it the blues.") or we could portmanteau that shit with news and call them, blews [insert all the adolescent boy humor here]
I legitimately did not know that’s what they were called. Funny enough, I call them Tweets because I can’t move on and also because it’s Bluesky and birds fly in the sky and they tweet
Comments
What is a post on Bluesky called?
The official term is post.
hit me with your best skeet.
no skeet posting.
gonna go back to doom-skeeting now.
Let's pull a Kleenex on this, people
🍻
or simply "posts".
"sky writing"= "skryt"!

It has "blu" for "blue" and the posts can be construed as blurbs.
Blubes?
Skruths?
What’s wrong with “posts”?

Posts are perfectly acceptable and not semen adjacent.
Bleets and Rebleets
• “I just bleeted that.”
• “Did you see that? I rebleeted it.”
• “This post is going viral – so many rebleets!”
I personally ignore almost anything that includes the word "Skeet", unless it is in reference to a shooting sport.
Also can we talk about moots?

Tweets was a viral thing its gonna be hard to recreate it. Elon musk was stupid as fuck to kill the Twitter brand
Yikes! I need a shower.
People here should be called Blueskis.
i was alive in the 90s
i do like biscuits
We'll get through this together. ;)
I prefer "Bleets".
Everyone knows what a post is
It doesn't have an eyeroller UrbanDictionary definition
This idea of yours could work 🪁😊
I like your ZipODee about this. We should get others to ZipOut some Replies. No?
Yanno
Like butterflies kinda do
Don’t get me wrong, I can appreciate the metaphor, but the imagery can’t be worse.
...because "bskyt" is essentially a creative spelling of "biscuit".
