"let's make a movie that will appeal to kids and teens" used to be conventional wisdom but Hollywood somehow forgot it and started trying to please 35 year old supernerds instead

Chicken jockey!
I did not hate this film and I absolutely expected to. They've put some jokes in between the Minecraft references
kids like minecraft
The funny part is that Minecraft has been around long enough you could do an adult oriented Minecraft thing and it might still sell buckets.
1) extremely affluent
2) relatively dense for car-oriented sprawl
3) extremely hilly in a way that makes the value proposition of ebikes immediately apparent
4) great weather year round

"heres $20 for snacks. Be respectful & stay off your phone. I'll pick you up in 2 & 1/2 hours. Have fun"
Let my 14yo & his friend take my 9yo & his friend this weekend. They got to be independent & i got an evening!
Bring back movie going as a thing instead of short attention span watching at home while scrolling on your phone
Freddie Prinz Jr should thank me for paying his kids’ orthodontist bills.
honestly, I've never seen more movies than when I started commuting to work by bicycle
no thinking about parking, gas, or fares, all focus on the cost of a movie ticket and concessions

I wore out the Star Wars vhs growing up. The new trilogy was largely an abomination bc it was creatively vapid. Andor is what they should’ve been doing all along. Same for marvel
Marvel was making various genres until everything had to be the same Avengers movie.
If this movie had come out in 2010, maybe.
That was my logic class today, Hollywood. You're welcome.
Legitimately remedial.
Make a bunch of shitty movies about obscure video games only 35-year old supernerds care about.
Perhaps it was the other timeline.
To Google!
Though it also understood balance.
It's okay to not be into a thing without being an ignorant dick about it
(Not disagreeing with you! It's a fun, silly movie.)

Or maybe they are just boomer suits and doesn't have a clue.
"Why would you want to do anything for fans? I mean, I'm a Silent Hill fan, and I've spent this whole review whining like a broken motor."
On the other hand, people need to chill. Like, it's not evil to make a silly fluff movie for kids
This is my "old man yells at clouds" issue.
God forbid they go out into the world & have *new* experiences. 🙄
Reason? Because it’s considered a meme to watch it. It’s not about the content, it’s about saying they saw a terrible movie as a meme. So now we’re going to go see it lol
there were tons of kids at the theater today.
Literal applause at the end by the children who were there.
