I own books. I love books. My husband writes books. Before we downsized our home, we had 23 floor to ceiling book cases completely filled. One Halloween a little boy who ran into our house shouting, "you have a library in your house." His parents were mortified, but we loved it.

I generally pass on novels to others. My permanent library mostly consists of books on gardening, religions of the world, craft books and then there’s a whole nother room for cookbooks which I read like novels.

I feel like I can't 'own' books - I get them from friends or thrift stores or borrow from the library. But I'm always then giving them away or donating them after. It's like the more hands that touch the book, the more alive the story remains. I'm aware of how pretentious this sounds, but it's true.

I agree. The more dog ears, the spine worn, gives such character to a book. Sometimes if lucky, a past reader has written inside or underlines a line that creates curiosity. 💜

I drive my teens to school in Seattle and they go to different schools at different times so I have a lot of time in the car. we spend one way chatting and then I listen to a book on the way that I’m alone. I’ve “read” a lot this year.

I own about 60,000. My 2 car garage and every room in the house is full of books. The ones in the garage are on bookshelves, and they are mostly for sale on the internet. But the thousands in my house are just to keep me company. I wouldn't want a Kindle if it was free.
