"The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs said Thursday that it will end a mortgage-rescue program designed to help veterans who have fallen behind on their mortgages keep their homes."

Pete Hegseth is a f*cking liar. This is so clearly classified info he recklessly leaked that could’ve gotten our pilots killed. He needs to resign in disgrace immediately.

no offense to Jeff but if you are alleging the head editor of the Atlantic was cunning enough to circumvent all your security safeguards that kinda makes you sound even worse

From an operational security perspective, this is the highest level of fuckup imaginable. These people cannot keep America safe.

American war planning usually takes place in highly secure facilities. But the Trump administration planned its strikes on the Houthis using a group chat—and accidentally included The Atlantic’s editor in chief, @jeffreygoldberg.bsky.social. theatln.tc/AmsjsuT6

Swalwell: Hegseth is still the Secretary of Defense? This moron texts out our war plans, putting our soldiers at risk, and he’s not gone? Every one on that chat—they just fire off texts not knowing who is on the chat? They all should be fired if they don’t resign.

Every single Democratic lawmaker should be calling for Hegseth's immediate resignation right now. Not just some. Not just a few dozen. Every single one, starting at the top with Mr. Schumer and Mr. Jeffries. And the fact that it hasn't happened yet is nearly as shocking as Hegseth's conduct.

Brian Kilmeade calls for the end of due process: "It's not practical to think we can do due process on 8 million people ... if we're gonna give every one of these guys a day in a court and a lawyer, we can't do it. They don't deserve it."

Elon Musk’s role in slashing federal government staffing and budgets as the head of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency continues to draw backlash, as nearly 90 Tesla showrooms across the United States face demonstrations Saturday in the fifth week of the “Tesla Takedown” movement.

every person involved in this needs to be in prison

The Commerce Secretary is promoting a company’s stock on live TV, and not just any company’s - the company owned by a ‘special government employee’ and the president’s biggest donor. The corruption is the point.

Excellent excellent excellent from Princeton president and constitutional/ political theorist Chris Eisgruber. There's been far too little of this kind of thing; here's hoping others follow his good example. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

BREAKING: Elon Musk and DOGE efforts to close USAID likely unconstitutional, agency must be restored, judge rules www.nbcnews.com/politics/dog...

So WIRED talked to actual federal auditors about how government auditing works—and how DOGE is doing the opposite. “In no uncertain terms is this an audit,” claims the second auditor. “It’s a heist, stealing a vast amount of government data."

For those folks who have been waiting to climb the pole and ring the “constitutional crisis” bell, it would appear we have arrived. Neither Judge Sorokin nor Judge Boasberg believed that he was signing a meaningless order, and both judges demanded compliance that never came.

the invaders are salting the earth and poisoning the wells so we cannot rebuild again

This is why DEI matters. Please repost & keep reposting.

The United States reported the first outbreak of the deadly H7N9 bird flu on a poultry farm since 2017, as the country continues to grapple with another bird flu strain that has infected humans and caused egg prices to hit record highs reut.rs/3FAXbDa

“‘I was put in a cell, and I had to sleep on a mat with no blanket, no pillow, with an aluminum foil wrapped over my body like a dead body for two and a half days.’”

Once you establish that people can be punished because the administration doesn't like their speech, expanding the bounds of who can be treated that way becomes inevitable.

I could write up why there’s no constitutional problem with the President using an auto-pen to sign official documents—or I could just post the 30-page 2005 opinion by George W. Bush’s Office of Legal Counsel that explains why in lots of detail. I choose the latter: www.justice.gov/file/494411/...

If the White House doesn’t like a federal judge’s ruling they should appeal it, not ignore it. Absent a valid justification, the government officials responsible should be held in contempt.

The Trump admin just admitted it ignored the court order blocking deportations under the Alien Enemies Act.

This is outrageous. Judge Boasberg’s order went against government agencies which were in the US, and which were in direct contact with the plane. He must hold them in contempt of court.

A federal court’s jurisdiction does *not* stop at the water’s edge. The question is whether the *defendants* are subject to the court order, not *where* the conduct being challenged takes place. Were it otherwise, the government could act lawlessly overseas and courts would be powerless to stop it.

🚨BREAKING: It seems very clear that the Administration decided not to abide by the court's order. The question now is what will the judge do. Does he proceed with contempt or something short of that to defuse. Upping the stakes is the fact that the AG and her senior staff signed this notice.

The table is set for the most direct showdown of Trump and the courts to date. Administration admits today that 100s of supposed gang members were deported w/ no process. chief judge of district court Jeb Boasberg had ordered them not to do it and to return any planes that had been sent.

The Hungarians are telling us something.

"dei medal" you might as well just put "n*gger medal" because that's what they mean to say

If you live in NC, call every Republican politician you know. Call every farmer you know and ask them to do the same When money walks , voters talk. Make sure they know this effects everyone in their town and state www.wunc.org/news/2025-03...

EXCLUSIVE: This just happened onstage in front of 6,000 Bostonians at the Dropkick Murphys concert. "This is America, no kings here!" @dropkickmurphys.com nails it again!!

This guy, who became rich off tax money, is fine now, but thinks other peoples pain is funny and cool. Tax elon

NEW VIDEO: With democracy on the docket, the big question is whether the courts are equipped to handle Donald Trump. George Conway and I discuss. You will want to watch! www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Tb6...

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House. We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication. They own what happens next.

Today Donald Trump attacked me by name in a speech at the Department of Justice. Of course I am worried, but courage comes from acting in spite of being worried. I have made my choice: I will continue to speak out, I will continue to litigate, I will continue to stand tall. I will never bow down.

Citizens United, which allowed unlimited corporate, interest-group, and individual spending on elections, triggered plenty of dire predictions. But even the most pessimistic among them fell short of imagining American reality today. ICYMI @jilldlawrence.bsky.social:

Trump can call me names but the truth remains. He is an unhinged wanna be dictator who is angry that I beat him in court and won't cower in fear. Now he is weaponizing the federal government against his political opponents. I will not back down. I will not bow or scrape. I will never obey.

I spent 14 years in opioid hell. Many friends and acquaintances have lost their lives. It’s a result of American drug company Purdue Pharma/OxyContin. Anyone trying to blame fentanyl, Mexico, China, or Canada for America’s overdose deaths and opioid drug addiction are full of shit. Full stop.

This is the gold standard measure of atmospheric carbon, the one you see in almost every chart that tracks emissions.

Morris is a former spiritual adviser to President Donald Trump, and Gateway — one of the nation’s largest megachurches — has been particularly active in politics. In 2020, Trump held a “Roundtable on Transition to Greatness” there that was attended by then-U.S. Attorney General William Barr…

CNBC senior economics reporter Steve Liesman on Tuesday: “what President Trump is doing is insane. It is absolutely insane.”

BREAKING President Trump’s 25% tariffs on ALL steel and aluminum imports have just gone into effect. These tariffs are global; they are NOT focused on one or two countries.

"Top officials of our oldest allies say privately they fear that we are becoming not just unstable, but actually their enemy. The only person who gets treated with kid gloves is Putin..." www.nytimes.com/2025/03/11/o...

It's not real. It's not us. It's not bad. It's too hard to fix. It's too late. Just about every climate denial argument I've ever heard is a variant of one of these five categories, and each one is as bad as the next. Why? Because they all have the same goal: prevent action as long as possible.

Oh he’s good. Well done, @apnews.com.

@propublica.org reporter Brett Murphy with an explosive scoop. This is insanity.

Trump announces more tariffs on Canada and says, "The only thing that makes sense is for Canada to become our cherished Fifty First State."
