I've never seen him engage in good faith debate ever. All you need to understand about this guy is that he wrote two autobiographies before he turned 40.
He loves X because he loves attention, good or bad.
With elmo at the helm, it’s a cesspool. He’s such a hypocrite claiming to be this advocate for free speech yet when I criticized the person in a video who was abusing an animal (abuser wasn’t the poster) I got permabanned for “supporting violence”. elmo has done far worse.
Ironically, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that he's mistaking "serious, good faith" interactions with AI bots that are just programmed to respond in a way that resembles that. Twitter has a lot of those.
Well, he’s obviously a serious person — he has three names. Everybody knows three names designate either a serious person or an assassin. There are no other options.
My god, what an insufferable twit. As Covid loomed, "the only question for anyone with options was where to go to endure it."
Off to the French countryside, because I can afford it and you all are just fucked. -TCW
To the dude whose namesake is a teen literary prodigy/forger/huckster who couldn’t survive getting called on his bullshit: maybe take a deep breath and a walk around the park before sending your next impulse here? Just sayin’. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Chatterton
His post "is a lens into an insular discursive space dedicated to staying pure, marginalized and permanently unattractive to the majority of the country across ethnic lines. It is a tendency that absolutely pushed [non-]normies toward the catastrophe of MAGA."
He has nothing to add to any conversation. He is just Rufo with pretensions and a thesaurus. Just feed the last decade of The Atlantic into an LLM with a French translation of Project 2025 and you can probably simulate him pretty well as a chatbot.
Obviously he's really good at being wrong and unappealing in this particular way, but I sense this analysis is mostly down to the fact that his shit doesn't hit here. No one reads or shares it, he doesn't have very many followers, and he isn't good enough at writing or posting to change any of that.
I think there is a very real chance that chatterbox doesn't know that blue checks get Amex front of the line privileges and that there is a reason why everyone replying to him sees how very smart and nuanced is his thinking.
It’s so funny to act like X, the Everything App, is fucking Chatham House or whatever and then you go on there and every reply is a braindead bluecheck talking like phrenologist Clippy
I keep an account for work purposes, and the first tweet was just a vertical video of a tv show clip and the first two replies were porn. It's just spam and clickbait !
A site he owns where a mother of his children is begging to speak with him about a medical issue but you can get money by defending Elon so every reply is like, “you cannot speak to A Gentleman, this way, madam, and thus deserve no response”
good faith debate is when people whose viewpoints overlap 99% with mine repost my article with a "yes, and." ad hominem is when people quote my posts with a photoshopped birth certificate with my name and yesterday's date.
with twitter there was such a mentality of "I will follow this person even though I disagree with them and their takes constantly make me mad" that surely helped him build his following there, while with bluesky, many people have decided it's better to do the opposite and block them
ill just never forget him being so horny for Emily Ratajkowski he couldnt stop talking about how much he was thinking about her tits and wrote it out loud
I guess I have him blocked by some right-wing moderation list, but my skyline is so uninterested in him that I didn't even know he was on here until a few days ago with the whole "woke right" nonsense. It was bliss, I tell ya. Bliss.
Twitter has become a site where everyone imagines themselves at a dinner party discussing all the Things You Can’t Say while triggered protesters shout up at you from the street. Bluesky is more of a “Please don’t break the window, the A/C is on and he’s listening to his favorite music” vibe.
I find my posts get better engagement over on the site where the shittiest poster who ever lived bought the place and custom-retooled the algorithm again and again to bury good posts, boost shitty posts, and amplify the dumbest orcs and Nazis in the replies
When he first came to BlueSky I called him a [REDACTED] clown and told him to go back to Twitter. He responded by telling me that he's too important to need social media. Once I knew he'd seen my message I blocked him.
Which is really funny because I find these contrarian “calm yourself” posters to post mostly so they can use their philosophical training to argue in circles
Must be why he thinks X is superior-plenty of dipshits to lord oneself over there I suppose
My last attempts at "good faith dialogue" at X involved me being bombarded by tens of right-wing accounts whose "good faith dialogue" ranged from some good-willed mocking of my appearance to some threats of good old ultraviolence.
No, Twitter isn’t the real world—it’s a loud, skewed digital square. Only ~22% of U.S. adults use it, per Pew. It shapes narratives but distorts reality. The real world’s messier and doesn’t fit in 280 chars. What do you think?
Twitter did not and does not reflect the views of the majority of the world or even America, but the people who spend time there are politicians and op-ed writers who believe it does and are trying to impose the Twitter Far-Right Universe on the rest of us.
Every time this dude comes up, I laugh about that time he tried to lecture everyone on the need to love their job. He then got absolutely ratio’d by everyone pointing out that columnist for the Atlantic isn’t a job people can relate with, he then said that was a perspective he hadn’t considered
I’d call them cynical before calling it nihilistic. After 15+ years of social media, plus years of forums before that “i’m just asking questions bro” 9 times out of 10 is code for “I got caught being a bigot, let me just feign ignorance”
Calling any social media site the “real world” is ridiculous. Bluesky included. But at least Bluesky isn’t governed by a billionaire manipulating everything you see.

And this man baby has decided to disable responses to the long thread from which the screen shot came
Which is really too bad because I desperately want to know how a man so obviously educated as he is can misunderstand what a cult of personality is?
--Sorry. Have to break out the deep cut Charlie Sheen quote from Working Men whenever I am confronted with "phrenologist."
Personally, I think everyone should just block him
dopamine hit ain't big enough here for previously high-follower accounts
To quote Maxine Waters: I am reclaiming my time.
Yes, the site with the overt Nazis all over it is the superior site, one might even call it the uber-site.

Unpleasant.
“Why will no one debate me”
Tells me everything I need to know about this person.
i didn't know he was a creep, too.
But a simple "C" is way less douche.
Thomas C. Williams is kinda dope.
Chatterton is not.
What personality would that be, Williams? Who are we worshiping here?
Yeah, we can tell lol
