My low-key favorite thing about Poirot mysteries is the anti-escalation rule where he's not allowed to call in his giant robot until Rita Repulsa makes the monster grow.
I’m still pleasantly surprised that he christened it Betsy.
That scene where he has everyone in the room, faces the murderer to be revealed and then epically says “Betsy goes BOOM!” before offing them for their heinous crimes was 🤌🏻 😘.
I'd love a videogame where you play as a detective solving mysteries amid an active invasion. Earth Defense Force + Poirot. Defeat invaders, save witnesses, gather evidence, blow shit up, deliver justice.
More outrageous things have happened in the series, in comparison with some of the original books. (I’ll just say “Appointment with Death” and leave it there)
I knew it! Poirot was a Belgian spy all along, gathering intel before the great invasion! The clues were always there. Guess I missed the season where he finally got some payback.
Most people don't know this but Predator is a complete rip off of Poirot. From always finding his prey to punctuality right down to the shoulder cannon
Only guesswork, but this could be Fort Nelson in Hampshire. It is now part of the Royal Armouries. It might be another Victorian fort, the buildings and the visible bank are commonplace. Most of the guns are now indoors.
Can’t pass up the opportunity to showcase the poirot caricature I commissioned from @tealcartoons.bsky.social for my mother. No shoulder cannon but the train is pretty groovy!
The weary Belgian detective dons the war machine armour one last time to do battle with the mandarin while solving the murder of an old friend of Captain Hastings
It's just good writing. The crux of the show is solving mysteries, so the cannon let's him sort out the fight scenes quickly so we can get back to the good stuff.

"We must have symmetry, ci vous plait."
Then Hastings would be like "now, there's an idea, old chap. Maybe a rocket launcher on that side?"
*Boom*
"Not before, monsieur, but certainly now."
Cool.
Good job everyone.
that is not an antiaircraft gun, but a field artillery howitzer.
A classic.
*Loads his heavy artillery arm cannon as a flex*
"My le aim it is, how you say, le very good, yes?"
That's a howitzer, a super long range cannon for ground targets. It's pointed up because of gravity.
Idk maybe they did make an AA gun that big at one point.
He looks at the camera and says: "avancer".
Lot of freeze frame explosions on that one to cut to commercials.
They're scraping the barrel with that gimmick.

“You have thirty seconds to comply good sir…”
Agadeptus Christartes?
A weapon to surpass Metal Gear!
