Amazing fact: Toy Story came out only 5 years after Thatcher resigned, although somehow it feels like they're in different geological epochs. If Darren Grimes was born in 1993, that puts him closer to Woody than Maggie.
If Darren Grimes means he is ok with my family being murderd in the camps he might wish that he can undo that wish. Bc I will Yankee Doodle his ass from his hell into an actual hell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9P9gWhvUnSE
Ernst Röhm was a friend of Hilter, and leader of the Sturmabteilung (SA), yet was killed by the Nazis during the Night of the Long Knives. What would Darren Grimes do when his fellow fascists start persecuting the LGBT+ community? He back the wrong horse.
Grimes is a spoiled little twat born on the wrong side of the tracks in 1993. What would he even know about a damn black and white polaroid picture? Give me a fucking break. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAw0Ri4FSdM
So the first times he will consciously remember will be the late 90s when yes things were pretty good. We were leading members of the EU and had a Labour government. The far right was an extremist irrelevance and the NHS started to improve from the destruction of the Tory years.
That pic was taken in June 1984, of "women during the miners' strike, Fitzwilliam, Yorkshire" The country was not united then - Thatcher's war on the working class and the trade unions was in full swing, just like the truncheons wielded by the Met at Orgreave https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Orgreave
Once upon a time in days of old . . .
. . . life was pretty shitty in many ways.
Unlike Master Grimes, I was there & experienced it.
My parents lived through 2 world wars. My Pa never spoke of his experiences in WW2, my Ma & grandparents did.
Grimes' vision of the olden days is as mythical as Troy.
I were born in 81. We had beef dripping sandwiches for us tea, on toast at weekend if we were lucky. Cooked on the gas fire mind, didn't have electric until 1986 in 't north. Used t ride me bike down cobbles after deliverin t bread. We had ice on INSIDE o t windas!
I was born in 1943. We were at war with Germany. Food was rationed. We spent a great deal of time in air raid shelters.
Life was a bloody sight harder than it was in your day, Mr Grimes.
a lot of his ideas were likely formed by his childhood in Consett, Co Durham. If you know the area, people largely continue to live in extended families a few streets from where they were born. Hence, he has this idea that we had each other. Probs not reflective of the majority of the UK.
Two observations pic from period of miners strike, DG being from NE would have been no friend of the miners. Secondly doesn't he still live with his mum, hardly one to be lecturing on social inclusion.. 🤡
It’s weird that they pretend to pine for some long-lost community spirit, because the majority of people like this not only refuse to speak to their neighbours but would cross the road to avoid helping their neighbours.
Well, people did spend more time interacting with neighbours and shopping locally.
Obviously those communities were not harmonious utopias, they were made up of human beings but the "majority" not crossing the road to speak with their neighbours?
The Flixbough disaster was in 1974 and that marked the start of the modern health and safety system - 19 years before he was born - liar, liar, pants on fire
Hold up.
I was born a couple years before him and the first PM I was aware of was Blair. He grew up under Blair too. Does he know he’s cheering on Labour?…
I just asked ChatGPT for an anagram of Darren Grimes, and it came back with MASSIVE WANKER. Honestly, I can't tell if AI is getting smarter or just finally saying what we're all thinking.
The country was united - as long as you were wealthy, male and straight, he means. A time when paedophiles were protected by churches and the state, women had few rights including a terrible pay inequity, and homosexuality was illegal. No minimum wage. Great times.
That may well explain it. "Tough on society, tough on the causes of society." Thatcher, Major, Blair (Tory Light), Brown, follower by a shower of shit beginning with Cameron and ending (Finally!) with Sunak. The problem is that they've normalised Austerity and even Labour have succumbed to it. 3:O#>
Fed up with all of these fucking faux patriots who would sell this country down the river, given half a chance. Bunch of grifting losers with zero talent, who are only given an opportunity to spout their shit because evil scum with bags of cash have decided to platform them.
Always the same isn't it? They desire a past that edits out many of the problems from back then, and they're using it as a piss poor disguise on racism basically.
@darrengrimes.bsky.social was born after Dnb was invented but he think he just missed out driving a Spitfire. Though he would have probably signed up for the Freikorps.
Throughout the 1990s, the NE was the arson and car crime capital of the UK. The MetroCentre was ram-raided in the early 90s. Some of the worst murders happened in that period. We even had IRA attacks. It might not be brilliant now but in many ways it's better than then. Grimes is an utter balloon.
Yes I remember visiting Newcastle and surrounding area in the early-mid 90s (and going to a Blyth Spartans match, that's how authentic I was). And it was really obviously struggling. Went back a couple of decades later, noticeable difference.
I bet a £1 to a bucket of shite that wee twat -and his followers to a man/women- would point blank refuse to live in a terraced row with an outside shitter, coal fire, rickets, no car, no double glazing, no Euro holiday, only B+W TV, no internet or mobile...........but they'd have each other.
It's an image from the miners' strike in 1984 so don't be too hard on him - Darren is celebrating the solidarity of mining communities during the strike. Not that he knows that.
Ah, the 1970s, when we were all content, united, and right wing extremists were happy with how it was all going. Someone should tell Grimes the far right have always been furious about the country going to hell in a handcart. https://youtu.be/Xb82v7wh1Fw?si=DVCINkXPiyaJTPHR
When he found out he could just grift to make a wage he threw all his principles and his compatriots into the bin. It's amazing how a few quid can make someone completely insane, so much so they'd actively advocate against their own self preservation.
The idiot king. It's amazing how loudly he routinely foghorns his absolute dim-wittedness. Might as well wear a shirt emblazoned with "Look at me! I'm as thick as pigshit!"
'93? My son is the same age, and all he concerned himself with when he was a kid was Lego and going down to the playing fields on his bike. We lived in the 90s bit of England back then, though, not the 90s-but-looked-like-80s bit that Dazza was apparently born into. 😆😂
The country was united? 😂Seriously flawed recollection - try researching “miners strike” - families weren’t even united.
What utter bilge this boy talks, it’s embarrassing; he really needs to shut up rather than display his ignorance.
Hmm. So the photo is from 1984. And is of the wives of striking miners. To use that photo to suggest life was "better" says a lot about young Mr Grimes.
Dont be mean to him life was hard that sound of the dial up internet still haunts him and 'I will always love you' traumatised him ( and to be fair everyone else )
Since that photo was part of reporting on the Conservatives’ destruction of Yorkshire mining communities in the 1980s, it’s probably not the most appropriate image for him to use.
If he had been alive then he would have been cheering on the attacks on miners, the closure of pits and the destruction of mining communities by Thatcher.

Thankfully, I don't see much of him now.

Comrade Grimes
@reform-uk-official.bsky.social showing us who they are loyal to.
It's NOT the British.
'84 Miner's Strike.
What a loser.
. . . life was pretty shitty in many ways.
Unlike Master Grimes, I was there & experienced it.

Darren Grimes is an utter fuckmonkey.
Life was a bloody sight harder than it was in your day, Mr Grimes.
At least I didn't have to suffer Darren Grimes when I was growing up.
Too much makes you lose track of time...
Obviously those communities were not harmonious utopias, they were made up of human beings but the "majority" not crossing the road to speak with their neighbours?
"In my lifetime....

He may have been manufactured. Created or designed
He was not ‘born’
That would imply humanity and there is none.
"Times were tough" - wonder who was causing a lot of that in 1984.
A civil war in the UK in all but name.
Darren Grimes is an absolute
🔔🔚
Could we get him the life expectancy from then?

I suppose it's to be expected he'd screw that up as well.
And it was the right wing conservatives who destroyed it
--Young people of today
Dude you're with the people that do everything to tear society apart. Sit down, shut up and don't show your face in public anymore.

Darren Grimes is a tit.
He's such a bellend.
Spaffed up the wall more like.
I was in a cot till I was six (not joking).
Bet he had a double bed and a telly in his own room.
What utter bilge this boy talks, it’s embarrassing; he really needs to shut up rather than display his ignorance.
