So sorry to hear that, especially as the center has been getting more productive and needed than ever before. Hopefully it'll be back soon. If I become a billionaire in 2025, hmu for funding.
Chiming in late to publicly acknowledge how much work you did to make this a cool and productive thing for your students and colleagues (and me, on a few occasions!) Not everyone does that with their professional skills and clout, and it was really special. It sucks that this has happened.
I can do that! This isn't the place for LONG rationales but I ran for office in large part bc of the 2016 election & I would *like to think* I did some good, lasting work (at least it's lasted, so far). That work never would have happened without what I learned & who I connected with at DU.
Thanks. ☺️ There's so much more to do! Which is why this is not the time for a university like DU to cut a program that teaches people how to evaluate and craft public policies. Sounds like the kind of background we want to see more of, not less of, given, well, *waves hands around*.
Sorry Seth. I suspect we’re entering a period of contraction and consolidation in higher ed, here in Denver and everywhere else. Reach out if I can help.
Sorry to hear that. You were very kind to meet with me back in 2012 and I learned a lot about Colorado politics specifically from our conversation. Was very happy to see what you’ve achieved with the DU Center
I still feel bad, I wrote a card to thank you for the time but in all the busyness of the 2012 elections I never got around to mailing it so it still sits in my house
I will also point out this is yet another case of admin cutting things that students love and appreciate while not recognizing that you can't solve an enrollment crisis by eliminating everything that might attract a student to your school...

We’re waiting for the shoe to drop on the DEI space.
