Ronayne, Kathleen (November 5, 2015). "Sanders declares as Democrat in NH primary". Burlington Free Press. Associated Press. Retrieved August 30, 2023. Sanders says he'll run as a Democrat in future elections. He says, 'I am running as a Democrat obviously, I am a Democrat now.'”
my sentiments exactly - they throw a few good people in there to make their intentions look honourable, but they taint him with these kind of moves (which may be by design)
Fetterman isn’t on our team and to even suggest him for President is laughable. I wouldn’t elect him President of the PTO or school board. He is a damage agent. He doesn’t want to preserve democracy.
Gallego?? FETTERMAN??? Fetterman isn't even going to be a fucking Democrat anymore by 2028. I'm not sure if he'll be a Democrat by February 28 at this rate.
If the primary actually consists of these people I'm probably just going to off myself rather than endure the point of no return we've already reached.
The list should include three names, and I don’t care what order you put them in: Gavin Newsom, AOC, and Big Man Jay Robert Pritzker. They’re the only three Dem electeds who use the word “Republican” like a slur and will meet the moment.
one of the things I suspect they want to ensure about the person they want on that ticket
because you *know* of this group they are putting out there, they already have their top of the ticket and VP selections as their candidate and the rest are just for cover
I guarantee I won’t vote for a white guy ever again. If they can not vote for the most qualified canidate for president because she’s a black woman. I can not vote for the next mediocre white man.
How about Buttigieg-Beshear to pick up a couple red states? Fetterman, just no. If their home states backed them, they would be putting the same number of electoral votes in play as Pennsylvania. Eh, who am I kiddin', we won't have elections by 2028.
Here’s my expert Bluesky analysis. I see those two governors using their states most effectively as a thorn in Trumps side. Like Gavin or not….he can use California’s economy as a hammer against Republicans.
seriously, the way the tRump/Muskrat/MAGAt fascists are pulling apart our government, there will be no reason to vote in 2028 as there will be no "United States of America".
This looks like a list written by a Republican who hasn’t heard of all that many Democrats. I’m pretty sure the candidate will be “none of the obvious ones”
"make the most sense" to lose I assume they meant? It's honestly impressive how bad these options are, and especially how all of the "top" ones are some of the worst. I'd take this list just as seriously if it had biden and clinton on it 🙄
Well, this rogue’s gallery can certainly raise AIPAC and oligarch funding. But nobody in this roster can get people of conscience to vote for them. I thought the West Wing-brained types were all about winning?
None of these people feel like they have the stones to play dirty and really go after rump and everyone around him. Democrats get absolutely bullied all the time and now here we are.
Oh, yeah, that *is* concerning. I just liked him because he put up a solid effort in Georgia, but haven't looked into his positions as much as I should.
I’m a big supporter of Rev Warnock, but I’m not sure whether a run for WH is best longterm plan, for him or our country. Call me old-fashioned, but I want to keep some strong Dems of conscience in the Senate for a long time. I’m concerned about Kemp running v Ossoff in ‘26 (among 1k other things)
4 years is a long time. These predictions don’t mean anything. 2008 was Hillary, 2016 was supposed to be Scott Walker v Hillary, Ron DeSantis was supposed to be a real contender in 2024, etc.
Unhinged choices, but if there IS a presidential election in 2028 the Dem's base will have shifted so far left in order to combat this crisis that it'll be some random progressive no one's heard of yet, not one of these people.
And should she run, the mainstream media would be perplexed by her strong showing and approval. And then begin to run anti AOC campaign stories to try to tank her, while Fetterman campaigns on "Trump being not too bad" which they will spin as a positive.
In fact, the Nancy Pelosi faction is probably the reason AOC was left off the list. The night she was elected to Congress, Claire McCaskill was on MSNBC and said in a real bitchy tone "I don't know why SHE is the flavor of the month."
Probably because AOC would make it much more difficult for people like her and Pelosi to use Congress as a nursing home and way to make oodles of money due to the knowledge they have to time the markets better.
She and that faction should retire. And I would actually go out and campaign for AOC as she falls more into my beliefs than most Democrats do. Most others just do not excite me enough to want to do that as an independent.
She'll be 38 and just a member of the House for 8 years, representing parts of The Bronx and Queens. No chance of winning the party nomination for president then. Ideally, she'll be running for Schumer's seat in the Senate.
Look at the rest of the list. They didn’t miss her. They didn’t understand the assignment. Run Harris again? Fr??? Not even the party faithful were excited about her in the first place this time.
In a country where sexism/racism/fascism is wide spread across eligible voter base, having lived through 2 elections cycles where a misogynist/incompetent/incoherent/convicted felon was chosen over the female candidate, Im not sure if it’s a winning strategy for Dems to have another female candidate
I am a hard no on Ruben Gallego and John Fetterman. Look at their voting record in these first weeks of the Trump administration. I doubt they will even be with the Democratic party in 2028!
I'm betting they go with a ticket like Buttigieg and Warnock.
The donor/business class gets what it wants - no taxes on the wealthy and corporation, no worker benefits, and no Medicare for All and they check off all of the voter boxes
The “serious people in the room” will tell you with a blank face meant for wet work that Josh Shapiro’s approval rating spiking for a few months to then return to a baseline lower than it was previously before he was ever named as a possible VP nominee means he’s a runaway train of popularity.
Gallego and Fetterman repeatedly voted to confirm nominees without issue. They can go fuck themselves. I will give my time to help vote them out of their seats.
I would love governor Walz as my president personally, he just represents the good people in America very well. But I just don’t know if he can win, he’s just so nice. And these people in the White House are evil.
Raphael Warnock is my Senator, and I voted for him, but his staff won't even reply to my email requesting he open a Bluesky account (which he still hasn't). Communication with constituents needs serious work.
I think that’s a CBS News typo. The actual article has proper spelling. The author is a Minnesotan, so putting him last is an insult in itself, honestly
It wasn't his team that brought in Cheney, iirc. It was hers. She did hire a bunch of new people, all Obama alums, all terrible corp centrists. They sidelined a lot of Biden's people, then blamed them for their decisions.
im gonna devils advocate for the other person. They simply said iirc (if I recall correctly) I don't think they were trying to be mean or rude.
I think both the biden and kamala teams, and dems in general let us down and we are all probably feeling it rn. I genuinely hope you all have a nice day

He can run again! Well…walk.
Sure he’ll be 86, but that’s a lot of experience.
LOL
multiple times.
Ridiculousness.
because you *know* of this group they are putting out there, they already have their top of the ticket and VP selections as their candidate and the rest are just for cover
Fettermman, really? C’mon!
You know Kimberly Guilfoyle is saving up.
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Remember when Biden biffed the debate and Aaron Sorkin wrote an Op Ed calling for the dems to nominate Mitt Romney?
Or when CNN spent a year hyping The Starbucks Billionaire or Joe Manchin.
Or Michael Bloomberg.
Waltz is likely the better option of all of them, but the bar really wasn't that high so even burnt pasta would look better than most by comparison.
2) AOC
3) Uhh… Walz, sure
It should be 12 pictures of Walz if they're gonna do this shit.

mostly associate him with that op-ed about how backing away from social issues cost the party the election
No. 13: Michael Jordan.

That said, I want her to run.

They snubbed a billionaire.
She is megadonor poison, that's why. (i.e. a great choice for real people.)
Fetterman will be in the Trump admin by 2024.
I'm betting they go with a ticket like Buttigieg and Warnock.

This is real life folks, this is not a joke..
So many of the others shouldn’t be anywhere near this list.
and by proxy, so too all of America
Y’all need to stop nominating women, though.

Check out the last point in this Axios piece.

Obama does not know you exist, and does not care. Stanning politicians, esp the ones who got us into this, does not help us out of this.
