Today, we at Google have a new product: what if you could could ask an app a question? Oh, we do that already? Well, what if we were a little bit worse at it? What if we also sometimes gave you egregiously wrong information? And what if it cost a billion dollars? Still not interested? It's mandatory

Yelling into the void, but quietly because my neighbours are rather nice.
It takes FOREVER to go thru all the channel listings this way.
I've no idea what shows they're offering
Like ... really, really thirsty?
Reddit is still goated for asking questions and getting the answer
Google search turned into opinion search some time back.
Do you have more details on that, before I start doing a bunch of dumb searches with both modifiers to try to spot the differences?
Google maps:”there’s a McDonald’s with mcchickens around the corner”
Google: no

I downgraded my subscription to get rid of Copilot, but the downgrade doesn't take effect for 6 months.
I figured out how to turn off Copilot, but its greyed-out icon still hangs on the page. It appears every time I highlight a word. Every time I press Enter.
This will turn Copilot off, but NOT remove the annoying floating icon from your screen.
I don't have Windows, though, so I can't check.
though Linux 🐧 is better than resolving irq conflicts & …
air gapped xp or w10 for games that haven’t been ported or parsec or moonlight sunshine ☀️ whiskey 🥃 wine 🍷 emulators
I would have had to feed it more context about security and bag check to get a sane response
To opt out, all ya gotta do is...

(it reverts Google back to pre-AI)
Now watch me frisbee my laptop because Meta Business Suite is completely broken lol
It didn't matter how I asked it, or how specific I was, it stuck to it's wrong answer.
What if we force everyone to see our shitty, stolen AI results at the top of every freaking search?
You know, let's force people to use it.
"... But you don't have shops, how does that work"
"don't worry about it"
(I can attest that this is a thing, first hand, and it's pervasive nationwide. Just in case you needed another element of the doomsday scenario to keep you awake nights...)
The problem with AI is it draws from whatever it finds, & presents it as fact. Sadly, few teachers have enough training in their content to know the difference. (Thanks, School of Ed!)

Also, stop using crappy products! Use DuckDuckGo (or at least stop using G**gle as a verb.)
And when was the last time Windows gave people a useful feature? Spending a week learning a comfy linux flavor is the best way to remove CoPilot!
I will not delete my mistake.
I shouldn't have to search for opt-out documentation every time they sneak AI features in without my consent.
Just for environmental reasons alone re: AI data centers, the MANDATORY AI DEFAULT IS OFF.
*sigh*
It sounds a bit like you taught a book without having read it.
I tip my hat.
(I know it’s not quite what you said but what is the internet for if not misinterpreting people.)
I wrote my housemate's dissertation in five days, on several books he should have read but hadn't. I was a first year law undergrad. 😂
Couldn't remember John Lewis' name! 'Good mischief' reminded me of him.
