I enjoy Severance, it's a phenomenal show. I can't get over its network being Apple TV.
Apple *is* Lumon Industries. An oppressive, highly secretive company with a cheerful, hollow facade, employees who have no idea what they're making, cult worship of Steve Jobs, the Foxconn suicides

Goes back to what I was saying a while back about how Amazon and Apple would happily preside over the dystopias their shows present, or already do today
Androids just don't understand that we want to BUY products. We'd rather not BE them for a company that took "Do No Evil" off their mission statement
You're way, way off base. It's not even worth picking apart...
There are many, many things I dislike about my former employer. I'm terribly disappointed at its recent compliance with Trump insanity.
But none of the things you fling in this post hold any water.
2) the employees know exactly what they're making
3) they promote, excessively, a MERGING of work and personal life, not a Severance.
4) your citation of Foxxcon suicides CLEARLY lacks any knowledge of those specific incidences, and lacks basic understanding of work in PRC
2) they do not and this is well documented
3) there is no actual such technology and that doesn't relate to the similarities I described
4) no it doesn't
My inside experience with Apple contradicts your claims, and you saying, "no it doesn't" is not a counter argument.
Check your shit before flinging it.
every anti-capitalist show is produced by a shitty company
Look at how on-the-nose The Boys is
There was an episode where a villain basically listed off the biggest companies in the US as her supporters, and Amazon was conveniently left off the list. Oh also she's a pro-union villain.
You can say the artists are getting one over on the corpos or that the corporations just aren't bothered, either way they don't seem to care if they're the butt of the satire
Similarly, anything Apple has released that's far future sci-fi, period piece, etc. is likely to see a lack of product placement.
But if it's modern…
Consuming media does not require corporate loyalty.
I appreciate the developers'/artists' work, hope the company changes course for the better, and refuse to give them money until changes happen.
Everything you said is correct, but they are super chrome hand waxed polish on shows.
Apple.... Meta.... etc etc
Amazon and The Boys is another example.
i applied to work at a new Apple store and when they asked our proudest accomplishments mine was "a short film" another person's was "had lunch at the Mac Cafe at Apple Headquarters
- Can't turn off the dock, it's a core part of the OS
- Constantly rearranging my monitors
- I have to restart my drawing tablet driver every login
And I read a LOT about the Trump/Musk Regime, so that’s saying something!
Interesting perspective. 🤪
Because it seems like you just get a little tingle in you panties from being an asshole to strangers online and that’s no kind of life. You could just talk to people like a normal person.
Wait until the series is complete to put this shit out there.

The iPhone was the first voluntarily adopted mass surveillance and control device in our society, followed by Android (even worse) and others
Severance being made by Apple feels similar to how Lumon made the "Lumon is Listening" video for its employees.
I guess it would be a bit more of an on the nose comparison if Lumon had a "Lumon TV".
tapping the sign:
Tim Cook donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration.
Apple changed the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America".
the D.R. of Congo is suing Apple for mining "conflict minerals" via child labor.
and there's this:

Foxconn, Google, Nike, Amazon, etc. are also guilty of being evil, dystopian, & oppressive corporations.
But a great TV show all the same.
iRate it
All I know is she and Milchick are really starting to butt heads!
Excellent show, boss amazingly portrayed by Nick Offerman.
Though it struck me more as a Google/Ai angle.
The Sci Fi series totally benefited from the "have to sit down and think situation" we were all forced to be in.
#perfecttiming
Could see a concept like that being turned in to something real weird lol
I watched this a few years ago, has similar overtones and also Nick Offerman: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/devs/s01
Your iPhone is out of battery.
Check out the talented artist. I love her stuff.
Watching season one made me feel physically ill (don’t get me wrong, it’s brilliant, but it was a weird watch.)
But I can say I sold phones for a few years and at least love their privacy features? 🥶🤷🏻
But I mean media Giants are who distribute the media so you know the irony will abound
“Cherished workers, drown your weakness inside you. Rise from your deathbed and sally forth, more perfect for the struggle.”
“No workplace shall be repurposed for slumber.”
“The surest way to tame a prisoner is to let him believe he’s free.”
“May Steve’s grace follow you into the endless dark.”
“We have refashioned the Steve canon paintings so that you may see more of Steve in yourself, and more of yourself in Steve. You will find them most gratifying.”
