Okay, I'm tired of election stuff, so let's try something else: you have $20 and need to get gas station snacks for a road trip - what are you getting?

Cherry Coke Zero ( NOT Diet Cherry Coke), those waxy chocolate covered mini donuts that come in a pack of 6 ( i know, i know) Doritos (nacho only, obviously) , Skittles, any sour gummies
several Spicy hot V8’s, a big ass drip coffee, a cheap jug of water a bunch of cheap hot dogs off the roller and a bag of Fritos and as many free packets of whatever condiments as I can
I swear by this combo. enough caffeine and sugar to keep you going forever, but measured out so you don't overdo it. salty snacks make you too thirsty, heavy stuff makes you sick.
The largest available hot dog, all the nacho cheez (it’s free!) jumbo coffee, all the little cups of half n half (also free!), Hostess toasty donuts, extra coffee cup to hold all the extra nacho cheese, egg salad sandwich, immodium, ginger chews, Gatorade, combos for the wife
White Monster, sunflower seeds (regular salted, plus empty coffee cup to spit them in), AriZona gummy snacks, horrible piece of real fruit to make me feel healthy
Coffee for sure! Big 24oz to get me started, and I'll make sure to save another $3 for a second. If it's a big road trip, probably a gallon of drinking water (hydration is important!.) A pack of lemon drops will last me all day, and since they're 2 for $4 I'm getting two :D
Probably a thing of meat and cheese sticks for the protein, and since I should have about $5 remaining either a donut or a hot spot sandwich to complement the first cup of coffee!
Diet mountain dew (fountain if its a thing, bottle otherwise), and a water, fruit mentos, classic doritos, and grandma's soft chocolate chip cookies. (Unless we're talking Wawa or Sheetz, then the priorities are totally different.)
Two Arizona Ice Tea Energy drinks and two green teas. One bag of Funyuns. One large Cucumber Gatorade. One king sized Crunch Bar. And whatever is left spent on the tiny banana Laffy Taffy's.
a large seltzer/club soda, some Welch’s fruit snacks (strawberry only) or if they don’t have those, then twizzlers, and if I’ve got money left over after their extortionate prices, something both salty and gross, like Combos.
Big bag of reeses pieces, 4 arizona green tea cans, 2 breakfast sandwiches, if available (bacon and sausage) and as big a bag of teriyaki beef jerky as possible.
I’m at a Buc-ee’s. I’m getting a massive unsweetened iced tea, half a dried venison & beef sausage ring, bag of bold & spicy beaver nuggets, small bag of their store brand salt & vinegar kettle chips, and a container of their mini lemon cookies. If there’d $ left over, a boudin kolache.
It's the only time I eat pork rinds. (If I got them more, it'd be bad for my arteries, & then I'd be sick of them & never want to eat them again.) Plain flavor! I hate how nowadays, for many snacks, the only choices are flavored: BBQ / cheese / jalapeño / ranch / ... Give me salt that's all!
Two bottles of either Coke classic or Dew Throwback, two Rice Krispies treat bars, a king sized Butterfinger, a king sized Heath, and a package of orange Hostess cupcakes.
for an overnight drive: cup of coffee from those single-serve choose-your-bean machines, sparkling water, and any classic combos variety. maybe the purple bag of skittles if it's looking like a particularly rough slog.
*"Safety Coke" (20 oz resealable bottle) of seltzer, San Pellegrino, Orange Crush, Cheerwine, ginger ale, or other decaf drink
*Sun Chips (Salsa or Cheddar Cheese)
*Share Size M&Ms (Caramel Cold Brew or Peanut Butter)
If I were just getting a treat for myself on the way home, I'd get kettle chips (plain or salt and vinegar), Sour Patch Kids (original), and cranberry apple juice, but for a road trip, priorities differ.
Something hot & meatless, and a vitamin water or similar fruity beverage (or iced tea).
A couple of pepper jack cheese Tornados™️, veggie spring rolls, slices of egg pizza (which is exactly as it seems), OR egg sandwiches. Not all of them at once.
Shitty coffee, a bag of pork rinds, and the rest on 2/$3 bags of cherry sours, which I’ll be tired of before I reach the next rest stop but will keep eating until I’m feeling sick.
first off you got to walmart or a dollar store, same junk less mark up, we tend to get a couple slim jims,(drop $20 on jerky if the budget were higher) dried fruit, (Mango probably) a jug or a couple cans of Arizona Iced Tea, a can of coffee, some chips or crackers, and some icebreakers.
big fountain coke full of ace so that I can munch on the ice after I finished the coke
either peanut m&ms or honey roasted mixed nuts
gummy bears
and a pastry of some sort, lil Debbie Swiss cake roll or mini donut or dainish
But if I'm gonna go on a road trip with some advance planning, the shared gold medal goes to cold pizza or a bucket of cold fried chicken. You order a pizza with the express purpose of putting it in the refrigerator for the next days roadtrip you know you're about to have a good day.
Chocolate covered pretzels, trail mix, a fruity soda variant like cherry coke, a big water bottle, Reeses or similar peanut butter candy, Pringles, and if I have any money left over, jerky.
Four hot dogs (one for each person and one for the dog) because nobody is too fancy for a hot dog. Three Dr. Pepper Zero, a six pack of water, and combos. This is also the only time Combos are acceptable.
Corn nuts, jalapeno kettle potato chips, some string cheese, some non-expired sunflower seeds, and a big cup with 3/4 cherry Dr Pepper and 1/4 strawberry Dr Pepper.
Stuff that doesn’t require having to wash hands (no Doritos) like a 2 pack of the oatmeal cookies, some hot peanuts, some sort of meat stick/jerky, and a snickers.
big bottle of soda because they’re usually only like a dollar more than regular sized ones, a pack of cookies, and two bags of chips since there’s usually a sale on those at the gas station near me
Fountain Dew Zero with a hit of vanilla or mango, peach rings, and either nutter butters or wafer sandwich cookies.
And then spend the next 15 minutes telling anyone stuck in the car with me about how amazing PB Max was and that we, as a society, have been TRAUMATIZED by the Mars family.

Japan? A bunch of low-carb protein bars, cooked 0-carb chicken breast, and miscelaneous veggies.
20USD can go a long way in yen these days :P
I used to get sugar-free gum but it turns out it causes diarrhea if you chew too much. Bad for road trips.
IMO you need fizzy, crunchy, savory, salty, sour, sweet, and hot, the seven on-the-go road trip food experiences, combined in some manner
Pringles. Coke Zero. And an ice cream sandwich.
Not an improvement.
– gold peak tea (peach)
– ice cream sandwich
White cheddar popcorn!
Before I got diabetes, Mt Dew Code Red was my road trip drinks JAM (I know they make a sugar free version but I never see it for sale)

Seapoint Farms roasted edamame if they have it, peanuts if not.

Mini tacos and a cheeseburger to share.
Large or XL fountain drink
The awesome peanut butter, chocolate covered rice krispie treat that only gas stations have.
Large bag of popcorners kettle corn. OR Chicago mix of popcorn.

Healthy shit.
