still one of my all time favorite movies
the way I sell it, based on how someone feels about Tom Cruise: if you like Tom Cruise, he’s great it it
and if you hate Tom Cruise you get to watch him die dozens of times over
there’s something in there for everyone

The transition to updog is beautiful too.
*I get hauled off stage by a comically oversized shepherd's crook*
My bisexual ass was 100% gay for the duration of this movie.
Same general vibe.
Mostly I delete/redo if I just got likes but if I get replies or reposts, the typos stay 🤷
Change my mind…
based take?
oh yeah, it's all coming together.
I posed the below on Twitter in 2020 raving about this movie, while forgetting its name.
The couch jumping episode did it for me.
If he were a great actor, I might be able to overlook his abhorrent personal behavior. But yeah, he's not that good.
I beg you: read the manga. Now you get the same great story with no Tom Cruise!
The "Hollywood ending" feels earned because of everything the characters went through.
It is one of my favorite sci-fi movies of all time.
Although it must be said that a lot of the film's greatness came directly from the source material.
Us to our loved ones as these homicidal tyrannical creatures assault our world as we fight their invasion.
Find me in 2028, when we can all wake up again hopefully.
I'm sure I've seen it more than a dozen times.
I felt like Rita has more agency in the film and felt like a fuller character
Still an amazing movie.
Watch Tom Cruise Die.
Watch Tom Cruise Repeat.
And it's based on a manga too
currently catching up on Dungeon Crawler Carl
ten years ago!!!
It’s based on “All You Need Is Kill,” great name
“The Edge of Tomorrow” sounds like a slogan for a company that puts out ads that don’t even hint at what the company does
Why in the world she doesn't have ten franchises is beyond me.
Is it weird that so much of my good feeling of it comes from the very last frame and the ending song? Just the perfect finish.
I mean, it was absolutely the right thing to do in the situation, but the way she was just ... "Well, it's gotta be done."
(Other than two hours that’s just Emily Blunt doing her fluid plank to push-up yoga move thing, that alone would be a great follow up)

But also Emily Blunt as a badass. Had me in a chokehold.
but basically it all made emotional sense too so I loved it
and the ending itself manages to be both a cliffhanger and extremely satisfying, it’s brilliant
Bam! Maggot!
Bam! Maggot!
Bam! Maggot!
Bam! Maggot!
Bam! Maggot!
Bam! Maggot!
And no shade--that's a talent.
I was blown away by how good it was
Edge of Tomorrow deserved better marketing.
you've reached That One Level that's nearly impossible to pass & have to memorise the entire map, while you keep getting killed
Loads of great cameo performances throughout.
But it's a good premise and movie overall!
What do these four movies have in common?
Mad Max: Fury Road
Edge of Tomorrow
The Lego Movie
BlacKkKlansman
Hint! If you don't know the answer, you don't want to know, but if you can't help yourself, it's here: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm6518391/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cr
😞
But it's quite another to exclaim "the fuck?" and wonder how a person is at all associated with the art.
But also funny that Steve did NOT produce Me You Madness.
(not his best nomination for any position, I think that was clearly Powell)
just be glad it’s him not you
If you had Tom Cruise’ troubles
you’d be Tom-Cruise-crazy too
Next time you see someone discrediting manga for one reason or another, remember that there are multitudes of genres of manga and some inspire movies, like American comics do.
Peace ✌️
What I really miss is that they made a LITERAL sci-fi roguelike film... but DIDN'T give us a tie-in roguelike game! Wasted opportunity
Jerry Maguire
Edge of Tomorrow
These movies form a trilogy in the way that God intended trilogies to be.
No thanks!
I’m a sucker for ALL time loop movies and this seems fun!
