I am so sick of this discourse. The question isn't whether random left-wing people do irritating things. The question is why Democrats are held responsible for the actions of the fringe left while Republicans are not held responsible for the actions of the fringe right.

There’s a “Dems use alienating campus language” discourse going on; I think it’s basically right. College-educated America — media, boardroom, Dems — does adopt language that other people don’t use and sounds odd to them.

Right wing tactics and their media enablers are soooooo reminiscent of the way toxic people abuse, control, and belittle others. /1
And when we do push back they go full DARVO and play the victims.
Establishment democrats court everyone; billionaires, marginalized communities, even republicans. This forces them to eat their own when a scape goat is needed
I am so ashamed.
In other news, water is wet.
Is it fair? No.
Does it being unfair change anything? Also no.
They're hypocrites. Quit whining that they're getting away with lying, it's getting all of us nowhere.
The Republicans are not held responsible for the fringe right because the Republicans are the fringe right. MAGA is the heart and center of the GOP.

Money comes from tax payers when it comes to paying for single payer healthcare
Our gov prints dollars when it comes to our military. Because it would crazy to rely on the private sector to take out bank loans to pay for our military
It’s not crazy for households to take out bank loans to pay for a family emergency
Dems worked almost flawlessly. They had policy issues that are always going to be problematic because not everyone can ever agree but they dumbed their shit down to who's a fun guy to drink beer with.
Anyone really think it's because of the fucking language Democrats used?
Republicans- spearheaded by Trump- run for Clown Office. Everyone- espDems- hold them to Clown Office Accountability levels.
Dems run for Serious Office, & are held to that level of responsibility
Is this our fate no matter how we message?
I laughed in her face. This is the shit that needs to be addressed. Jmho
that’s awful. that’s a fucking awful and frankly racist thing to say
Several of the organizers of the January 6th terrorist attack are *still in Congress*. One of them went on to steal hundreds of our most sensitive documents, several of which are still missing.
None of those people are in jail.
Is it not also language policing to demand that people STOP using phrases they feel better express what they want to express, like “undocumented immigrants”?
2) The new Republican Party *is* the fringe right. The President elect is a felon and a lunatic. The Cheneys literally campaigned with the Dems.
3) Let’s panic together 💕
Much like gerrymandering, it's great to want to play by the rules, but it's suicide when the other side has a stated intention to never play by the rules.
I'd settle for "laws, but for everyone for reals this time"
The sheer number of times Mitch and co were allowed to go "I haven't seen it" about a trump action is an indictment of the press.
My brother in Christ, how do you think language becomes popular??
(For the yuts: When US intelligence agents tortured some captives post 9-11, Repubs (& some Dems) insisted on referring to it as "enhanced interrogation". Most US media quickly knuckled under to the NewSpeak, "to avoid politicization". 🙄)

The right has a vast multimedia propaganda network, institutional media is cowed to them, and the left has nothing.
Sense
To me
Some random dude on Twitter with no power or reach says some weird shit: "THE LEFT HAS GONE MAD"
Their wildest conspiracies and disinformation talking points are being spoken into record from the floor of both congressional houses.
The left doesn’t have that luxury
Dems name names, which limits guilt by association.
I.e. how the media frames the Republican Party as without agency, or like a force of nature, whereas the Democratic Party is always with agency.
