there is nothing that makes me stop listening to someone faster than using snarky nicknames when referring to dangerous oligarchs. you're not funny or smart for calling him "elongated muskrat". please stop.

I can’t do the nicknames. It’s so cringey. I don’t know how people can convince themselves that the richest most powerful people in the world would be hurt in the slightest by being called Elmo or Drumpf. They’re people who can literally murder countries.

though now I just say things like el*n bc it's less annoying
Say their names, don't be afraid of them. Fight them and their idiot supporters wherever you encounter them.
Except Meatball Ron, that’s hilarious and it’s his name now, full stop.
#MakeDonaldDrumpfAgain
I really would like to know what remaining on Twitter/X gains anyone.
I’m not saying its an effective strategy, just that it didn’t seem to hurt.
And some people started searching for that anyhow so it became a moot point
I'm not trying to be funny, or smart. I'm fighting with the only weapon I have left.
"Don't say your opponent's name" is a simple rule. He wins because people are always talking about him. He doesn't need any more free publicity.

I've heard that argument on Reddit more than a few times.
Well, it must be true then!!
Trump, Musk and the current cast of villains at large mostly avoid this by having really short names already.
That seems less likely here, but, eh...
And it serves the additional benefit of not boosting their public profiles. Which, again, hurts them. Because. Narcissists.
"Meatball Ron" was an all timer
Nothing will ever top “Meatball Ron”
We all know things are about to suck, so why not get a few laughs in while we can and find some solidarity?
Seriously, give us this for the remaining 2 weeks we got before shit hits the fans.
We know this does nothing to him but this is for US. When I get killed by a death squad, I'm going down swinging but I would regret not laughing while I still could.
You: HOW IS THIS YOUR ONLY SENSE OF HUMOR?
News flash: If you can't laugh at fascists while also realizing how dangerous they are, that's a skill issue.
We let a monster in the white house.
“tRump”
If I choose to call Elon Musk by some other name it is not because I'm laboring under the misapprehension that it might hurt his widdle feelings.
Still: point taken. I'll try to communicate more clearly in future, Robert Evans.
its so dumb and brainrotted
I encountered the nickname "fElon" in the wilds of Reddit and cringed so hard.
Generally because they weren't signing the right cheques.
With these malignant, narcissistic lumps of insecurity, it probably actually does bother them more than pointing out that they're dangerous and stupid.
Not short and catchy.
But spot on.
Lest the result be like the British paper that said an anagram of “A. Hitler” was “The liar”, yes, yes, good one, but maybe mention an atrocity
It's still kinda gross tho.
Like, Elon Musk bought an island and named it that.
Either that or he’d name it after some setting in sci-fi that is 100% not somewhere people should live, like Klandathu or Mordor.
Except as dorky as that sounds, it shows I'm more creative than Musk.
Also, helps with avoiding the shadowbans
If their peers call them stupid nicknames, maybe they might be bothered. But you? Nah
Obviously he won'tsee anything I write. But the people who follow him should see us mocking him every time he's mentioned. They want a strong man leader, not someone we think of as a traffic cone with a bad toupee.
When was the last time you saw an ad for a product that named their competitor? Do you agree that humans respond to psychological tricks?
Obviously 45 isn't going to be crying because of a skeet from a nobody. But the "left" seems to think humans are rational and above silly psychological tricks (like repetition) despite all evidence.
But I'll call him by his name as soon as he calls his daughter by hers. Names have power and show respect. Why pretend otherwise?
Dems stepped on their own tail so many ways in 2024. A lot of changes need to be made. I don't think calling him by his name (or not) is going to win us 2026 or 2028. Does anyone?
Posting online should never be a substitute for actually working in your community and being politically active in *real* ways. I don't see how one precludes the other.
It has to be intentional, not just a knee-jerk reaction because you don’t like them.
I see this as a question of branding. 45 puts his name on everything. The fact that he finds this so important suggests that we should too.
I'm begging you to get a personality.
It's not to be cute. It's a thing people *do* when talking about something powerful, dangerous, unpredictable and omnipresent.
You know. Like a guy who bought Twitter.
I know on Twitter some of it was in response to if you used actually names of Trump or Musk (and others) critically, the algorithm would punish you-- or you risk getting on some right-wing shithead list to mass-report you.
