You need to take a ‘my dad used to be so hip’ picture for your kids to show their friends someday. I have one of my father in a corduroy suit (which his boss later told him he was not allowed to wear to work).
Please educate me. No really. Because my Au ass looked it up to verify a denim jacket over jeans.
It is the style of denim? The material? Should it be jean jacket and jeans? I genuinely want to understand.
I've reached a point where Dressing Up means I put on a pair of jeans and a button shirt. I think this would be the perfect solution. I'm starting a search Too bad you don't get a commission.
Because your among the few guys who could get away with this look without looking like you peaked in high school and are trying to relive your glory days.
As I told you in a previous post, I had a denim suit like that in the 70s. Everything comes back around...including fascism. I lived under Franco in the early 60s...not gonna' do it again.
You did it! Wow! Honestly, I could never go there, but I’m impressed at how quickly you pulled the trigger! It takes me months to make this kind of sartorial choice/change. Granted, I’m also super stingy.
I keep saying he and the Workwear guy should host a lefty YT channel and podcast called “Men’s Rites” - style, food, faith, civics, fashion, grooming, sex, health/sports etc. Tim Walz has a regular cameo doing DIY projects. Jamelle wears the denim suit. Anders Erickson does cocktails. I can see it
Yes! Time to go hard on the Canadian tuxedo in solidarity w your northern neighbours. (Also, start putting back that “u” in “neighbour” and “colour” and “honour.”)
You definitely wore it better. Karl Lagerfeld even designed an entire Chanel women’s collection in the 80’s using jeans fabric & it was amazing (I know as I managed a part of the RTW wholesale division at the head office).
They were very popular in the uSSR in the 1980's, which seems to the vibe we are going for these days what with the rise of autocracy and all, so apparently you're dressed correctly for it.
Men in the 70’s wore them. They were called Leisure suits. Cool guys wore the denim ones? Wanna guess who wore the double knit polyester ones in bright colors? Not the cool guys. Still kind of hilarious JCrew is selling these.
I went to the local video rental store with my toddler girls. We were all dressed in some sort of denim. When we got to the check out the clerk commented "You could be a J.Crew add."
I had a three piece windowpane denim suit when I was nine (back in ‘76) and platforms to go with it. It was my Sunday suit and it was a baaad motherf#€%&r. I walked up in Sunday school like I was ready to slap somebody with scripture.
I was in Dallas, but it can be I can reveal that we were brothers in a secret society of denim suited children. Like the Freemasons but funkier (the Funkmasons?). It was we who, during sacred rite involving overly sweetened cherry Kool-Aid, foretold the coming of government cheese and Sam Jackson.

Can’t let that one go
You are next level class❣️
I grew up in northern BC and I thought this jacket was a Canadian tuxedo.
Maybe mine is a Canadian sport coat?
Because honestly that would be pretty sick.

What was old is new again!
I've never been a suit guy, I'm comfortable in sweatpants and a humorous or band T.
Sporting my #OingoBoingo T-shirt today 😊

I don’t remember if I have any pictures, though. If I do, I might know where to look when I get off work.
