New starter pack! I've been wanting to make this all weekend, but a sick kid and grant writing took priority. Plenty of space on here--let's see some pups. https://go.bsky.app/8JBjFxH
Please meet Artemis, the black lab puppy my partner and I adopted after he was abandoned and ran straight into our lives FIVE WEEKS BEFORE MY DISS DEFENSE.
(Yes, he definitely added stress to my already stressful life. Yes, he was absolutely worth adopting—100%.) I mean, LOOK AT HIM.
I call ours "our lot" or "our crew". If we did more with them (we have more capable dogs than we deserve) that would be a team.
(Oops and Mme Vastra are sisters. Littermates. We have 5 more of them - Alonso, Boe (Face of), Angel (Weeping), Rose (Tyler) and Wilf . See Oops's name for "how come".)
I doubt being a retired teacher and coach qualifies me as an Academic but I do have a great dog. Joey adopted us in December of 2020 and is named for the 46th President of the United States. His doggy DNA test showed 18 different breeds but he's 100% Good Boy!
This is Bertie, he is a rescue dog, this a picture when we first got him, he has brought so much pleasure and fun to the family. He's getting on now and has a few health issues. However he still behaves like a puppy.
They say thank you! And want you to know they're names we're an accident! We're not Camelot obsessives! We chose Arthur's name and the rescue charity chose Merlin's. But it was obviously meant to be! Arthur is Merlins emotional Assistant dog and let's him know it's all going to be ok
Omg so my friend @siobhanwanders.bsky.social adopted a dog back in February this year from a rescue. The dog, Ocean, got flown down from Iqaluit, Nunavut and at 2 years old, didn't have any shots because vet care is tricky to access in Nunavut.
She takes Ocean to the vet the day after she gets her and again four weeks later to get all her shots. The vet says that Ocean is getting a little chonky, which comes as a surprise because Siobhan was walking her like 3 hours a day and also she wasn't super interested in food.
Sorry to hear about your kiddo. We had one of those this weekend too. But it also meant a lot of Toy Story and Inside Out, so—the rough with the smooth.
I want in. Rescue from Egypt and we called him Moses, rescue from Turkey and we called him Rusty as he had that rust colour being an American Golden. Mose is part Collie and part Golden. So a Gollie.
I’m a law professor at the University of New Brunswick. More importantly, I am the proud dog mom of 3 Havanese: Barksdale, Riggins, and Finnegan. This photo was taken on Prince Edward Island…after a fun romp on the beach!

That's my kind of social media frankly.
