Even by the abysmal standards of the NYT's coverage of trans rights this is shocking

I knew before opening either of these articles that it had to be Jeremy Peters.
Example, Is a pro-trans op-ed confrontational if it merely runs on the front page
They want deference not different tactics
Good freakin grief, launch these people out a cannon into the sun
Guess I’m not one then.
Do people need to be popular in order to be allowed to exist?
NYT really needs to just ... Grow up
Alienating people today for potential future allies, is infuriating
Replace the word transgender with any other marginalized group and you can see it's flawed.
All we want it the right to fucking exist and live our life without fear. Just like everyone else.
Not the 1% hoarding 80% of the wealth, buying legislators & legislation that allows monopolies, tax-avoidance, depressed wages, unsafe work environments.
There is 1 OSHA inspector for every 81,000 workers. Intentionally.
Mara has always been a shit so I'm not surprised she jumped on the bandwagon.
Sure, Jan.
Your ep on nyt war on trans people was v good
Excuse me, I have to go break some things and scream into the darkness.
“If you oppose an activist group’s goals you have to endure their criticism!” Yeah no shit Sherlock.
“when trouble developed or bomb threats were received, [managers closed] the entire store.”

Who made bomb threats? 🤷🏼♂️ They just appeared from somewhere.
They also make sure to quote a black woman calling the sit-in protesters “ignorant” and “a disgrace to their race”. No white comments were printed.
Moulton wasn't just "defending parents" skeptical of trans sports participation, he supports policies to restrict them. People who disagree held a peaceful protest outside his office. This is normal!
She has dedicated her entire late career to restricting trans rights and has issued numerous straightforwardly transphobic statements. After a recent one, an LGBT rights org criticized her.
'This uh Nigel Farage guy, people just keep on tone policing him, and honestly, people would just be, uh, less inclined to be opposed to diversity initiatives and less receptive to being white supremacists if people would just stop with this meaningless "Islamophobe" term.'
Something like that?

Legacy media is driven by profit, and so in America…this crap must be profitable.
🙄
"You always do this!".
"OK, give an example."
"I can't think of one!"
Clearly the Dems need to move further to the right, to win over one or two racist fascists, even if it costs them most young or biopic people in the country.
"Get the multivitamin without iron unless you menstruate" vs "…unless you aren't a man or are a postmenopausal woman or premens…"
These accusations could have been levied (and were!) against suffragettes, the Civil Rights movement, gay marriage campaigners, you name it.
There were these same folks then. Appeasers (who honestly are also trying not to be murdered)

Because news analysis usually appears near the title or author name when it is.
Do that to the NYtimes. Then WaPo, CNN and the rest. They don’t work without engagement.

It was appreciated.
NYT: How dare you.
The youngest child smiles and replies "The New York Times!"
"if you people would just stop confronting your own violent dehumanization, she wouldn't have lost"
and iirc, this same turd wrote a blathering kneepads piece about Elon Musk recently as well

Michael's screenshots are a good way to criticize in context so that people don't *have* to click
probably doesn’t help that you’ve spent years normalizing transphobic rhetoric from JKR and others.
Trans folk don't owe oppressors civil anything. They've tried civil, and look at what it got.
(NY Times circa 1956... Probably)
