saw a tiktok about how your top three favorite muppets reveal a great deal about your personality and on reflection about my favorites — fozzie, sam the eagle, statler and wardolf (they count as one) — this is absolutely true

Back in the twitter before times, I think it was a psych major who had a thread about what uncomfortable truth your favorite Muppet said about you, and it was eerily accurate.
I was just trying to come up with a definitive 2 and 3, but yeah, this was my number 1 right away. I really hope this reveals my love of absurdism rather than a red flag about enjoying humor based on national stereotypes. Mahna Mahna is also a strong contendender so … hopefully absurdism?
Sam, Beeker, and Animal. 2nd tier: Fozzie, Swedish Chef, Pepe. 3rd tier: Janice, Link Hogthrob, Rowlf. (Full disclosure: Kermit and Miss Piggy transcend ranking.)
If I think too hard, I'll get lost in the weeds--my younger son has become a Muppet historian, so I know entirely too many of them now. First impulse: Kermit, Gonzo, Swedish Chef. Which...yeah, that tracks.
We name most of our lab cold spaces (and one incubator) after muppets. My top three would probably be Animal (4C deli case), Uncle Deadly (explosion-proof -20C) and Dr. Teeth (-80C).
For me a straight Henson trifecta; Kermit, Rowlf, Dr teeth. Last two are basically the same character so could add S/W. But I add, and this is the real reason I write today, I always had a crush on Janice, the lead guitar of the Electric Mayhem. Does that count?
Gonzo is my gender. The other two would be Count (my ethnic group) and Janis because she’s in a band. Seriously as a small child I saw Gonzo in their crate marked “Whatever” and thought, yes, that would be my crate too.
Yes, I have always felt deep kinship with Gonzo, he’s my absolute favorite. Also love Rizzo. And probably there are other main characters but really it’s a tie between Pepe the King Prawn and Snuffy.
I feel like Snuffy is at a border of Muppets and I rank Sesame Street muppets separately or else I’d have to make Grover my number 2 pick and force Rizzo to share space with Snuffy and Pepe. How can you not love Grover?
Kermit, Grover and Swedish Chef for me. As a voice actor and former at-home dad, all of their voices are deeply embedded in my brain. I wrote a Sesame Street sketch a while back in which I play Big Bird. https://on.soundcloud.com/XSZLk6XXAcS2KBV68
Chaos muppets all the way: Mahna Mahna Guy, Swedish Chef, Cookie Monster. Swedish Chef may try to invoke order upon a recipe but he’s as done in his own instincts (thrown cutlery, blunderbuss in the kitchen) as the rebellious ingredients.
The truest thing about this is that I am absolutely a chaos Muppet (Gonzo, Animal, and Fozzy) and my partner is absolutely and order Muppet (Sam the Eagle, Scooter, and Rowlf).
The second axis might be chill vs no chill? Rowlf is supremely chill but maybe order neutral? I mean he’s fine with absolutely whatever as long as it’s not gonna harsh his mellow
Hmm… gotta be Gonzo, love an excitable weirdo, Rowlf is chill and knows music is awesome, and for some reason Lew Zealand always makes me laugh with the boomerang fish!
My family used to quote "you are SUCH an idiot" so often that a friend watched the film and rang me up to say he'd heard something on a Muppet movie that must have come from us!
My all-time favorite Muppet is Snapped Kermit, as I posted elsewhere. Whatever it is, it's sublime.

What does it say about me that I immediately got anxiety about being restricted to three? Only three favorite Muppets? THREE?! That said, I feel like Dr. Teeth, The Swedish Chef and Grover also deserve some “underrated Muppet” love here. Kermit, Piggy, and Gonzo are more the Iconic Trio.
First thing I did when I opened this thread was Cmd + F "Sweetums." Only 3 results, and 2 of those were another account saying it twice. No wonder the world is on fire.

Also head cannon Statler and Waldorf and the antagonists for Trading Places are one and the same.
For that matter, does the Alien Queen?
(I want to like Gonzo. I'm glad he's with Camilla, she's good for him.)
I suppose if I had to narrow it down, it'd be: the Swedish Chef, Animal, and a tie btw Gonzo & Beaker.
But I swear, I'm not an unhinged chaos goblin in my daily life.
Gonzo, big bird and Ernie though
Two Old Men (took this thread to find out what their names are)
Beeker
Not sure what that means. I’d gladly study whatever graph chart rundown thingy some nice person feels like taking the time to write
also...'like Free Palestine, man'
Cookie Monster, Dr Teeth, Sweetums.
hm, maybe
And... yeah. Accurate.
This is now terrifyingly accurate
Grover (Insatiably curious about trying new things even when they lead him to mistakes or setbacks.)
Fozzie Bear (Likes to make people laugh and is a loyal friend.)
Yep! Checks out.
Muppets, but he’s not a muppet (or a Muppet)
I am who I am.
at least the electric mayhem are getting something through animal.
Yeah that tracks.
Pretty accurate.
I should probably be removed from society.
Oh. It’s true.
There are lots of times where Fozzy could be replaced with Beeker and still fit me well, though.
It me
Which works because I married a Kermit Grover Animal
crap I might be insane
I get four

Someone has to keep the trains running…
3
Muppet I am least confident on Order vs Chaos: Rowlf.
In fact, even at their most orderly, an order Muppet is just ensuring that all of the prerequisites for fun are being adequately laid down.
Mine: Rowlf, Robin, Lew Zealand
That tracks
Cannot believe I forgot about Animal
https://slate.com/life/2012/06/chaos-theory.html
Not sure what that says about me.
It's a weird life, yes
I throw the fish away!… and it comes back!
The Great Gonzo
The Swedish Chef
Guilty as charged, m'lud.
Marjory, Mokey and Wembley.
*whisper whisper*
It is the British way!
But i feel like Rowlf belongs in there somewhere.
What does this mean??
"I AM NOT THAT DOG'S DADAAAAA!!!"
https://youtu.be/SVDgHEg2jnY?feature=shared
So what does THAT mean?
I think you could count Bert & Ernie separately or as a pair. Same for Dr Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker.
oh. right, you know, that tracks actually.
Existential dread, keeping the show running, and snarky musicianship.
They taught me it was ok to be Autistic, be sincere, be honest, be open to discovery, be great friends, be adventurous, and always be looking for joy
What are your placements Ursula
But I’m so undecided!
Big Bird, Elmo, so many others
...oof
…huh. Yeah.
Idk what this says about me but slapstick muppets make me cackle.
Janis
Sam the Eagle
Bert, Swedish Chef, Count Von Count
Is there some sort of AI engine we can feed this into to know what it means?
For instance, I love Pepé for telling the best dad joke of all-time, but I need to know how it all fits together.

Yes I am in therapy.
"Sweetums, lay your ugly head
Down upon your wretched bed..."
Like Barkley!
I am indeed a bossy, hammy weirdo who likes to chortle at dumbass politicians and make funny noises.
