(But yes, I LOVE lentils! Way more versatile than people realize!)
Open a can of black beans, add a 1/4 cup salsa, and heat it up
almost 4 grams in one cup!
Zero animal based foods contain fibre.
I feel pretty much the same way about bitter greens so I'll be happy to eat the mustards you don't want.
It is fiber plus accelerant.
vegetables, some
sofrito, one jar
chipotle peppers, half a can. or a whole can, I’m not your boss
cook for an hour
eat for several days
ain’t hard
If you want to add some bean to your beans, so you can bean while you bean, miso paste goes well in there too.
Serious bean-eating household. But my mother would put a pot on in the morning, and we’d eat them for lunch and dinner.
Occasionally I'd go really high society and add some canned diced jalapeno peppers. Those were the days.
I do like nustard greens, but I also can understand not liking them. They can be leathery.
All you have to do is sort them wash them in a strainer, put some water in, and press a button.
Keep them in the fridge for a few days heat up when ready to eat.
Though I'm a weirdo who likes grape nuts, just can't eat them due to my teeth being fucked due to *motions at everything since Reagan*
I also like to make these little energy snack things that are pb oats flaxseed and they feel like they help with fiber

One Brillo™ pad and you're good for the whole year.
It's the bacon in the Lagavulin that will get you.

Like tofu, you can make it lots of different flavors, from lemon-dill to roasted red pepper to black olive, just by blending those ingredients into the food processor with the chick peas.
Now you’ve gone and made me Cajun Hungry!

1/2 cup of beans is 30 grams of fiber!
I am doing it tomorrow for lunch.
ah ok, it's emmer, that ancient Egyptian grain you've so often heard about!
I learn so much cool stuff on bluesky 😁

It is easier and faster than you think. Start with good beans.

An easy peasy solution for me.
Like all the cheap cuts we ate as a kid are expensive now because they became trendy.
People eat beans because they’re cheap and easy.
Will they get “bone brothed?” Give them a fancy name, let influencers talk about the benefits and BAM!
$12.99/lb
Blanched in boiling water, u yil the stem soften.
Add boiled potatoes, sliced, salt, pepper and olive oil.
Sardines in olive oil o. The side.
Life is good.
When I'm trying to do any serious bulking at my gym, legumes aren't *enough* protein (so I gotta break out the chicken and protein shakes more often). But they're more than sufficient for anyone not trying to bench multiple plates.
👍💚🌱
Keep the greens coming!

The biggest difference between legumes vs. beans is that not all legumes are beans, but all beans are considered legumes. This is because legumes are defined as the fruit or seed of plants in the Fabaceae family, which includes beans, lentils, peas and peanuts.
That’s life?
First fat was to be banned. Then carbs were bad and outlawed. Then people went bonkers for all protein.
It depends on what you read.
People are now trying to find a balance.
Rarely are rules applied universally.
It’s great that YOU don’t eat X or Y but it doesn’t mean that no one else should.
/sigh
My complaint is a part folkloric online industry that contributes to the idea that some fad diet will be "the one".
Cabbage soup forever etc. sigh
I use in recipes in place of canned beans. Less annoying than opening 4 cans.
Oh, and the key thing about dried beans: if you don't use them within 6-9 months, it gets a lot harder to cook them soft.
soak the beans
for a few days, at least. change the water at least once. A little fermentation action goes a long way.
I have discovered the magic of adding chia, flax and oats into my diet. The flax and oats are even tasty.
Chia has no flavor whatsoever, but it's good for adding moisture and texture to a bunch of other things.
I then mix that in with a box of bran muffins. Eat one every morning.
Fiber bomb.
Maybe tomato paste, maybe mushrooms.
Adaptable to soup, a base for protein.
