I would like to hear some controversial culinary opinions.
My (relatively mild) one is that anchovies are good π
Also no pineapple on pizza takes please, because that debate always takes over everything π π½ββοΈ

If you're not full-on vegan/vegetarian, you kinda owe it to the animal to not waste anything; so there's an ethical dimension to it, too. Bone broth, andouillette, blood sausage etc.
Eat meat sparingly. Don't waste anything.
Iβve gotten some hate over liking ketchupβ I guess thatβs as controversial as I get.
And boquerones are delicious.
I said what I said. π€·πΎββοΈ
-Morir SoΓ±ando is one of the only times to mix oj and milk
-The Dominican beer Presidente by Charles H. Wazner was one of the ways used to make the Dominican population complacent and launder money when the US funded & trained dictator Trujillo was in power
This is not βchili.β
For fuckβs sake, this is slow cooker Spaghettios.
French toast with sour cream, cinnamon, and sugar is the absolute best!
and different meat on burgers is a hat on a hat and also sucks
I would always ask for over easy and hate the runny whites so one time I asked for βover easy with the whites setβ and the server was like, βover medium?β π€―
How is this not better advertised?
Over easy = firm white with runny yolk
Over medium = firm white with gelatinous yolk
Over hard = firm white with overcooked yolk
I make mine over easy at home but order sunny side up when dining out (too lazy to make myself)

Anchovy sauce
Garlic olive oil marinated white anchovies
Salt crusted whole anchovies
Must be prepared at all times
But also, as someone who doesnβt like coffee, I get it when ppl are incredulous about not liking the Thing.
I pretty much like peanut butter on anything.
White chocolate is a reasonable confection especially with tart fruit but it is NOT chocolate.
Chunky peanut butter forever.
I guess itβs similar to a shandy, but sounds gross.
My surprising treat to make peopleβ¦ chocolate covered pb stuffed jalapeΓ±os. Can also make them as bites by stuffing sliced rounds and dipping those. Iβve also added fresh chopped jalapeΓ±os to both regular chocolate chip cookies and raspberry white chocolate cookies.
Dill isn't even the most interesting herb one could throw in with cucumbers!
My mild one β mint chocolate chip ice cream is the best ice cream
If you eat cheesecake, try putting Sriracha on it. Nice hot and sweet blend.
There's a big aversion to spices in general in this country, and I've even heard my own family members call a chicken breast with a few cranks of black pepper on top as "spicy."

I have a lot of them
ps. The Menu is the most accurate depiction of foodie culture ever made. https://letterboxd.com/film/the-menu-2022/
No liquid smoke & brown sugar for me, Iβll take the vinegar pls.
Cuts: Chuck roast or Chuck steaks if you want fatty; sirloin/tritip; or round usually.
Insects are land lobsters and can be delicious in the hands of a good cook.
Consumption of high fructose corn syrup in soda and syrups is a primary vector for diabetes around the world. Municipalityβs should be nudging people to drink far less soda.

Marmite, aged cheddar cheese and a fried egg sandwich.
Or, if you want to kill yourself with salt, peanut butter, Marmite and anchovy sandwich.
Is America ready for Marmite though?
@bft.wtf youβve got an ally
Most hot dishes are improved with cayenne.
Pre-sliced, singly-wrapped American Cheese is a war crime against taste.
Blue raspberry flavoring is an abomination and should not be consumed.
Sour cream belongs in cheesecake and nowhere else.
Potato chips on sandwiches, like hamburgers.
Fries on everything from salads to sandwiches.
I get nothing but odd looks when I enjoy any of these.
BEHOLD! Neopolitan Flat Chowder.
My controversial take as a born-and-raised-in-NJ person is that Seattle actually has decent bagels these days. There's a few places here that do them correctly now. (tldr https://www.loxsmithseattle.com/ is your best option for a real NYC bagel with lox)
balance in all things
more salt means less garlic achieves what you want in the first place while enhancing the rest of the dish
